The very early models of this style were branded Electrolux Powerline, they were sturdy and cleaned very well, they were also made in the USA, I believe these style machine were branded Eureka Victory in the USA.
Needless to say, these style cleaners came under a few names, the bagged models were branded, Powerline, Widetrack, Smart vac, The boss, bagless variants (which by the way were AWFUL) came under names such as Cyclone power, The Boss Cyclonic etc.
Originally these vacs were branded Powerline in the UK and were first seen in 1997. I have the most basic model of the original Powerline model Z1361, mine dates from from 1998.
I did have one a while back that I got off a fellow collector, which was green, the model escapes me! It had a stair cleaning hose and an accessible exhaust filter, both of which my Z1361 does not have, but I do like the colour of this one. I also had a red Widetrack not to long ago, but I sold it as I was not that keen on it.
I also had the Widetrack, which was a Powerline but with a 15" nozzle instead of a 12".
Here is my Electrolux Powerline Z1361, the colour of it in this photo is a lot darker than it's true colour, but it is a lovely teal blue.
