We do know that 2025 marks 25 years since the year 2000 hit. What were Hoover, Bissell, Dirt Devil, and Eureka all doing in the year 2000? What products did they put out that year, alongside redesign or discontinue?

Everyone knows that at the time, Hoover was owned by Maytag, Dirt Devil wasn't owned by TTi, Eureka wasn't owned by the Chinese, and Bissell got involved with the Korean electronics company Samsung.

The Powerglide machines came out in 2001. The ProLite...I read in an article YEARS ago that it was released in 1999 (but I do not have proof).

Also in the year 2000, Euro-Pro was a thing. Fantom was still owned by Iona and made up in Canada.

Kenmore and Panasonic were also involved back then too, and so was Sanyo and Sharp.

Oreck wasn't owned by TTi back then either.

Simplicity and Riccar used to be so much better back then.

The year 2000 was synonymous with life pre-9/11, Al Gore losing the election to George W Bush, the Playstation 2 coming out as the cheapest DVD player at the time (it was $300 when it first came out), and when Steve Jobs was still with Apple (the iPod wasn't a thing back then), among others. Even back then, bubblegum pop/teen pop was still there, only for its relevence to quickly fade away a year or two later.

Didn't IONA started assembling Fantoms in the states at the time? I know they did but wasn't sure when though.

Riccar and Simplicity weren't exactly better back then at least in the year 2000. They've made some improvements over the years and later expanded. The only thing I can think of that were better back then are the paper disposable bags, the new ones today don't filter as well but thankfully we now have cloth bags.

You're not wrong there. In the year 2000, Electrolux was still Electrolux, meaning Eureka didn't take over the Swedish side and Aerus didn't take over.

Actually Eureka (and Sanitaire) were owned by Electrolux AB since 1974. But in 2000, Aerus LLC formerly known as Electrolux Corp. USA, sold the Electrolux naming rights back to Electrolux AB and later renamed the company Aerus in 2004. But before the transfer was completed, there was a time when both companies teamed up and produced a commercial upright called a Sanitaire VPS in either red or black.
