Oh wow! I wonder if this was supposed to be Eureka copy-catting the Hoover Concept One/Two? It looks remarkably similar in design.

Hmmm.

They sold for around 285.00 back in early 90's. Self propelled, strong 7.5amp motor. We didn't have Home Depot or Costco or Lowe's and browsing the internet wasn't a thing yet so exposure wasn't what we have today. Never heard any complaints on these.

Out of five Eureka model uprights offered in a Best Mdse. catalog I have the 5150 was the top dollar machine.

Consumer Reports to me is nothing but BS. Their testing, experience, and conclusive results have always been questionable. I know they nearly lost a couple of lawsuits when they got sued before for inaccurate reports. I don't trust them and I would not go to them for any vacuum cleaner or other product advise. Actually that would've made me want to buy the Eureka Precision even more because if they did say that it was a terrible cleaner, then I'm sold! Anyways that being said, I think these were good machines for what they are. And these were the direct competitive of the Hoover Concepts and Kenmore uprights or anything similar to Sears. This would've been great for me back in the day because I love vacuums with self-propelled and automatic cord rewinder features. But honestly, the Hoover Concept would've been my choice to have as I don't like having the belt at the center and the belts are famously known for breaking or wearing out the fastest as Hoover's is the complete opposite.
