1955 White Sewing Machine

I went thrifting today and spotted a very disheveled folding-table sewing machine by "White", for $10. I had needed a sewing machine and a table to put my printer on, so I grabbed it. I assumed by the green color that it was something from the 70's, but after looking up the model number (#666), it appears to be from 1955. I need to buy a manual for it because I don't know a thing about sewing much less how this thing works.

I prefer the look of much older pre-war sewing machines, but I would guess that post-war machines are a bit more versatile? This one certainly has its fair share of knobs and levers. Also, it weighs a TON. I would love to know what kind of metal it was made from. Maybe cast iron? Would steel be that heavy?? Feels like it weighs 30 pounds!

Ok, When both Singer and White found themselves behind the times in the early 50s because Necchi and Pfaff had both introduced zig zag machines in America, they had to do something FAST, Singer started selling a British machine until they could tool up a American built zig zag model, White bought this machine from a German manufacturer, I think Pfaff may have built it, but I'm not sure, it was not on the market too long because White discontinued making machines in America and started outsourcing them to Japan, the Japanese zig zag machines were much cheaper than the German ones, the machine you have is a FINE quality product, nothing today even comes close .It was also sold as a Lady Kenmore as White made machines for Sears practically forever.
