Hello,

I am searching for a couple parts on the two ranges in my house: a 1951 Caloric Gas Range and a 1966 GE Range. For the former I need a new burner knob, and for the latter I would like to have a 6-inch "extra hi speed" surface unit (burner)--not just a standard burner which is still available. By the way, the units have three prongs.

I do not believe that the Caloric company is still in business, and while some limited GE parts are still available for its vintage appliances due to leftover stock and after market products, the company does not keep any records on such items. In addition, web searches have not produced any successful results.

Ideally, I would be able to locate the parts at an old, well-established hardware store (unfortunately there are none in my area). If you know of such a store and are able to check on the items mentioned above, I would appreciate it. Otherwise, please let me know if you have other leads (not just suggestions).

I do not need brand new parts--just those in fair and useful condition. Current finances do not permit me to spend a great deal, so that is also a consideration.

Surface Unit Found

Even though I haven't received any replies, I see that quite a few have viewed my thread. For those that are interested, I was able to find an "extra hi-speed" burner for $15.00. I would still be interested in a spare for about the same price if you happen to come across one. The item is a GE/Hotpoint genuine part. Its MPN is WB30X142 and has been discontinued.

Still looking for a burner knob for the '51 Caloric.
