Compact Wands Stuck Together

I have 2 Compacts, and right now both are suffering from a similar issue. The first is the C-5, the floor nozzle is stuck to the end of the wand, and seems intent to stay there. The other is a flower power C-8, and the 2 wands are stuck together, again with no intention of ever separating.

I have tried everything I can think of, from heat, to WD-40, to cursing, but no amount of wiggling, tugging, tapping, or pulling has budged them at all. Anyone have any suggestions here?

Yes, I have a wonderful solution for wands that are stuck together, just pour boiling water from a tea kettle over them in a utility sink and waite a few minutes and put on rubber gloves and twist them off or even put a floor nozzle on them and put your feet on the tool holding it as you twist the top wand off.
This has worked for me many times, so try it and hope it works for you!

Removing wands &attachments -friction fit

simply spray pieces with Liquid wrench..Let sit a day respray and let it sit another day..Hit the pipes with a Plastic malot and twist they should come apart.

WD-40 is what i normally use. But alas in your case you may need something more aggresive like Loosen All, buy it in the automotive section or your local Hardware store.
I had a few in the past that were rusted like that, People still seem to pick up liquids or moisture even though the machine is meant for cleaning up dry dirt.

OMG, you are a genius! I had tried the liquid wrench and rubber mallet others have suggested, but as soon as I tried the boiling water trick, it worked! I stood on the C-5 floor tool, twisted, and it popped off so quickly I almost fell over backwards, lol.

Heating it causes the metal to expand.  Cooling it will allowing then to shrink.  That process will loosen rust and/or oxidation, which will then allow you to separate the two ends.  I've done something similar using a torch on frozen screws and bolts.  In fact, I think it was someone here on the Forum who suggested that.  Glad you got it free!  Those situations are very frustrating!

Put part in soapy water. Soap lubricates and another trick both ends of the hose. Fill hose up with water. Keep both ends sealed. The pressure from the water has to go somewhere and it should pop loose button.

Now that's funny, I was about to write a thread on the same subject, the last Electrolux I bought came with two tubes stuck in each other and the end of the flexible hose stuck in the upper tube.

I'll try the hot water trick, water is easier to clean up after if it doesn't work.

You can use rubber strap wrenches if you are careful.
Harbor Freight & Princess Auto carry them cheaply.

Wrenches

Those wrenches look really similar to oil change filter wrench. I never got much use out of those. If I tried to pull apart would break. If items expand with heat freeze them but spray with some lubricant. I'm throwing iteas out there. You can take it to the car wash and spray it until it comes apart. I do think the boiling method of all the methods it's what it bank on.
You could put in a vice and twist one.

Boiling water works!

Just wanted to say I had Compact wands that were seriously stuck together. I found a flower power model at an estate sale this weekend that had the short power nozzle wand piece stuck in the bare floor tool by the previous owner. I tried PB Blaster and that didn’t work. I recalled this post from years back and tried Tania’s trick of boiling water. It worked like a charm!
