Ben I can't thank you enough for the information that you have given me. I gave this machine the a good cleaning and now just have to shine it up. This is my first metal fan Kirby that I own, so hearing sand and other things hit the fan is very satisfying for some reason.

So I got around to giving this Kirby the Spa treatment today. I also examined the info plate and found out that it was rebuilt in 1970. I'm having trouble trying to put the spring back into the safety switch. How do I get it back in?

I spun the fan with the nozzle off and it wouldn't spin freely. I assume that the bearings are in need of grease. How do I pull it out of the motor?

I went to Savers again and found a beautiful Kirby Classic III. It is in wonderful cosmetic condition. The previous owner put on a mini emptor, so it uses disposable bags. I found this utensil set at savers. I'm wondering if the Kirby salesperson gave it to the original owner of the 510 that I bought. They both have to same old Kirby logo. Are there any others like this?

How should I clean the bag? Is it ok to put it in the washer?

I picked this up at my local savers today in Rochester for $20. Once I saw that it had a metal fan I grabbed it. I can't wait to restore this! Sadly I have to wait a week until finals are over.

What do I need to seal the fan housing with? Where can I buy it?

I bought a Kirby G4 for $30 at savers. This is my first tech drive Kirby. I took it apart and cleaned everything. Putting it back together was a pain in the @$$! There are so many screws. I'm used to doing maintenance on my Heritage II. All it needs now it a good buffing. The metal is tarnished...

I was watching Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey yesterday on comedy central, and there was a scene in the movie where they went to this kmart like store. I noticed that there was a Regina Housekeeper display in the background.

I have the #1482 brush roll, and I don't think it grooms the carpet very well. I also feel that it doesn't do a very good job picking up pet hair like the one on my Heritage II.
