Your cleaner is the Hoover Deluxe Convertible model U4019, manufactured from 1973-1975, and styled in Bali Green with Light and Dark Taupe.

No matter the Hoover model, each has certainly added something of great value to the vacuum cleaner world. Nothing in this world is perfect, but all of the above Hoovers have definitely made their mark, as evidenced by everyone here who loves and appreciates the cleaners they have.🙂

On second thought, disregard the info about the belt. Since the GE uses a flat belt, try the Hoover Elite/Legacy belts.

For the General Electric, you can use Eureka style F&G upright bags (which are the exact same design as the original GE upright bags) and Eureka style RD upright belts.

The Hoover color names for that model are Pearl Gray, Deep Mist Gray, and Peacock Blue, if that would be of help. My paternal grandmother had that same model. It really is a good cleaner. Best of luck with the great paint matchup!

Ronni Hoover model U4119's color names are Camel and Oyster White (the same as top-fill model U4107.)

I just remembered something-the screws which hold the motor hood to the main chassis ARE on the lower front of the hood, and require you to lift the nameplate band at the front of the hood to access them. Hope this helps.

To remove the bakelite motor shroud, you have to remove a pair of screws which I believe are accessible from the underside of the main chassis. (Either that, or the screws may be on the lower front of the hood, as they were on the American model 28.) Once those two screws are removed, the hood...
