Shark Vertex Bagless Corded Canister Vacuum with DuoClean PowerFins

Oops, just saw it was the canister we’re talking about not the upright. Chuckle. All the same, the dual clean head is only good for marketing purposes and doesn’t clean well, even with the machine at peak performance level, as clearly explained here:

Shark Vertex Bagless Corded Canister Vacuum with DuoClean PowerFins

Here’s your answer: This video, combined with my previous experience with Shark, has told me all I need to know about the latest machine they made. Also should mention, the pick up test was originally done in the unboxing video and edited into this one, so the machine was running on new...

Decisions for a new daily driver

If you sold the Sebo, how much would you sell it for?

    Shark Rotator Professional (trash find)

Shark with dual brush rolls running on wood floor? sounds like a disaster waiting to happen. Why not put a bare floor tool on one of your canisters and use that instead? The finish on your wood floors will last longer.

    New Aerus models

Hard to tell for sure with the music playing, but I thought I heard a newer style motor in that model. Almost sounded like a Sebo motor

    Hart Vacuums?

I have no problem with that, so long as vacuum stores can get parts for them. If the parts are the same as Hoover for Hart machines, then you’re all set.

So What Really Happened To TTUEE2006/Tristar

Haven’t watched his stuff, but you’re right; you have to have repaired a vacuum and gotten a chance to seriously use it or similar machines from the same company before passing judgement on it. That’s how I formed my opinions about different brands, and the whole bagged vs bagless conundrum.

    Kirby Sentria gift

Kirbys are like old cars: great project machines I’ve always had a soft spot for Kirbys. Even once I realize that they aren’t the ultimate end all beat all vacuum cleaners, I have still found them to be satisfying to work on, and to be a good budget alternative to the cheap bagless...

Good news for the future of vacuums as major home appliances

Personally, I’d rather have a little bit of both. As a studio musician, I would have to have carpet in my studio for sound dampening purposes, and I would prefer carpet in bedrooms as well for the ease on my feet, as hard floors are often cold. In a living room area I would probably do a...

    Shark Rotator Professional (trash find)

To clarify, it isn’t just because they’re bagless that I don’t like Sharks. There are a number of reasons including, but not limited to,the awkwardness of the tools, The undersized suction motor, the Poorly thought out chassis design, the unnecessarily bulky hose setup with that short...

    Shark Rotator Professional (trash find)

If I had to have a budget machine, there are so many machines I’d much rather have than a Shark. For example, an Oreck, or a Hoover wind tunnel max bagged Or Hoover Tempo. That, or I could find a used Kirby, Kenmore, Simplicity, Tristar, or other bagged machine for next to nothing and fix it...

What’s the best way to sell refurbished vacuum cleaners in today’s market?

Thank you! A lot of great suggestions here; thank you all for your help. I definitely need to get better at taking pictures of my machines. I’ve started taking pictures of the brush roll, but I never really thought about taking pictures of the bag chambers or inside of the fabric bags...

    Hoover Windtunnel 2 bagged upright?

Wow! I just figured out what machine that was I’ve been talking about: the Dual V! That was the machine I worked on so many years ago with a dead motor. What was the deal with the convertible nature of this machine, that is, the ability to put in a bag in place of the twin chamber bin...

What’s the best way to sell refurbished vacuum cleaners in today’s market?

So it appears eBay is following Amazon’s lead, in that they are making things extremely difficult for small sellers? Very well then; I’ll definitely check out some of the other options you mentioned. I don’t want to be selling on eBay if they’re going to fee me to death. Up to $200 on a...

Bissell PowerForce Helix is the defacto vacuum for lodging establishments

I’ve noticed this trend too. There used to be a time when Sanitaire was the primary brand used at hotels, but now, a lot of hotels I’ve stayed at use Oreck, or yes, some piece of cheap bagless junk like a Shark or Bissell. Doggone, I even saw one hotel using a bottom of the barrel Kenmore...

What’s the best way to sell refurbished vacuum cleaners in today’s market?

Wow! That’s quite a bit. So it appears eBay is the way to go then. So in your experience, how much do people usually pay for newer Kirbys? I have two of them I need to sell, and ultimate G and a Sentria, both refurbished and in great condition, but with no hose or attachments.

What’s the best way to sell refurbished vacuum cleaners in today’s market?

Subject says it all. I like to repair and resell used machines, but the main problem I have is not getting the machine or repairing them, but getting them sold once they are ready to go. I’ve tried craigslist, and more recently Facebook marketplace, but not much luck either way. Any...

    Hoover’s Design Adventures

Was the Hoover Duo V The bagless twin-chamber one with the two motor system and double brush rollers? The one I’m thinking of kind of resembled a Hoover wind tunnel twin chamber upright, but it had a two motor system, and the bin pulled out from the side instead of from the front. Also the...

Dirt Devil Ultra Hand Vac - discontinued?

I had one of those Dirt Devil Ultra hand vacs that I picked up at a thrift store a while back. Unfortunately, i couldn’t find the right size belt for it anymore, so I wound up getting rid of it. I also have a Dirt Devil Broom Vac with the same problem; in great condition but the belts...

    Hoover Windtunnel 2 bagged upright?

Hmmm Hoover has made a few machines with two motor systems. One of them I tried to repair for friends several years ago, but the suction motor was dead, and it died ugly; was that a diesel truck or a Hoover vacuum? That’s how bad it was. Interestingly enough, it was a twin chamber...
