Yea take the handle off of the machine and see if the rod is broken and check the actual on/off rocker switch and try turning it on by the rocker switch. If its still having the same problem its needs a new switch. If the rod is broken you need a new handle or rod if you're able to insert a new...

I would replace the switch on it but check the actual rod see if its broken first. If its not broken then its time for a new switch.

My mother use to have that same model but it was branded hoover of course. I know of the kenmore version existence but its still very surreal to me that there was a kenmore branded hoover convertible.

Remember the Dirt Hunter? It was a disaster on sanyo part with that filter designed that doesn't do anything but get clogged and prone to overheat. Same with the junk twisters.

Its strange and interesting to me that these existed and that someone made them for Royal. Imagine putting a dirt devil name on it.... that will give me chills when if it did happened.
