Done. Used the lithium grease and replaced the brushes while it was apart. Runs great, no bearing noise at all. Thanks to all for the help!

Thanks, got it apart, now what grease to use? The slot was the trick to get the pulley off the bottom and I removed the rivets to access the bearing guts. The clearances are just fine and the parts are OK, but I have never seen such a mess of clogged up grease that did not trash some parts. I...
