    Epoxy damaged Electrolux wheels

Thanks for all the suggestions! I tried epoxy (JB Weld) and seems pretty sold. Although, I stupidly epoxied the rear wheel upside down! Quite embarrassing! I guess I can try breaking the seam and try again!

More Stuff from the "Reconditioned Electrolux Lady!"

Very nice! Love that hose too. It has a very classic look. Couple of questions: 1) Was the E considered a budget model or was it the TOL model? 2) Are those wheels replacements? The wheels on my Model E are smaller and black. Nice find!

    Epoxy damaged Electrolux wheels

Has anyone ever tried to reattach broken wheels using epoxy? I used it on a power nozzle mounting lug once and it seemed to be stronger than before. However, it seems like a wheel would experience more stress.

Oldest Vacuum My oldest vacuum is a 1940 Kirby 4C. The oldest Electrolux that I own is a 1947 Model XXX.

    The Olympia Era

@jrdavis The Model 1453 was the economy model made by Electrolux when the Model L was phased out around 1978. They came in three different colors (I think) during its run to correspond with the color of the current Deluxe model. The brown 1453 was produced during the production of the Olympia...

    The Olympia Era

I guess Electrolux opted for a foam gasket between the motor and the bag chamber. I have a Silverado era 1453 and it was completely rotted so I replaced it with the conventional rubber gasket that attaches to the bag chamber. But this foam gasket was in very good shape so I just hand washed it...

    The Olympia Era

Over the last few days, I've been working on this Olympia era Model 1453. I took it completely apart and sanded, primed, and repainted it. It also required some minor body work. The motor was also completely disassembled and thoroughly cleaned. A new fan bearing was installed and the top...

    Electrolux Ultralux LX

I too am confused by the variations of this series. I wonder if, at times, Electrolux built built the same model with slight trim changes.

    Electrolux Ultralux LX

@ Askaboutcoins1 The motor is easy to get to. 1) Remove four screws from the cover. Two are under the blower port cover. One is on the top handle and the last one is up front by the bag door. Once those are removed the top will lift off. You can then remove the wire leads on the on/off...

Winning Vacuum Bid Turns Into Dilemma! 😔

Yeah...I think most Ebay sellers are reputable. However, there are those few...a few months ago, I bid on an item and lost the bid. About three days later, I was contacted by the seller stating that the sale fell through and I was given a second chance. Well, I took it. A day later, she...

Electrolux Corporation L-Shaped Power Nozzle Motor Replacement

I think any of the aftermarket motors that you see on the net will work. I've never used one; however, they appear to be missing the two mounting lugs at the pulley end that the older motors had. The screw mounts in the middle of the motor appear to be the same...

    Electrolux Silverado Special Edition...The Transformation

I guess the Deluxe Special replaced the Model L and received the color of the current premium model. While it doesn't have the Automatic Control, it does have a thermal cutoff to prevent overheating. It is simply taped to the bell housing frame. I am waiting for the paint to cure thoroughly...

    Electrolux Silverado Special Edition...The Transformation

I have a gray PN4 sitting around. I couldn't remember where I got it, so maybe it came with the 1453. I guess I'll have to service it now.

    Electrolux Special Edition 1623

It's too bad he's wanting to see junked machines. I've had vacuum shop owners give me that stuff just to get rid of it, including NOS vintage parts that they knew would never be used.

    Electrolux Silverado Special Edition...The Transformation

I was just reading an old thread on this model. Apparently, there was no rubber gasket between the bag chamber and the motor as on other models. The foam that I found was used to create a seal. Perhaps that was a cost savings move? But the foam was badly degraded and falling apart. Luckily...
