    Kirby Tradition deep cleaning results

@joe - Currently I have the same Heritage II mini-emtor setup like twocvbloke has above. It works very well but hard to tell the difference from my Heritage which has the sani-emtor and HEPA bags as well. When I have time I do plan on altering the original sani-emtor (exactly the same way as...

    Kirby Tradition deep cleaning results

Will I have several shakeout bags that have small hole on the bottem rear of the bag(just above the spring) that must be the weakest point of the bag. So yes, those leak and people should inspect their bags. If you really like the bag and it has a hole, you could always add a zipper and a fill...

How many of us sell vacuums?

I buy and fix/clean the odd Kirby (Generation series seems to be where the money is at) and sell on kijiji (as Zach above does). Wish I had more time it's fun fixing and then meeting people who want a Kirby. :)

    Kirby Heritage find

Did they ever make Heritage 84 small heads that say "Heritage 84" on the belt lifter? (I realize you could just swap on a H84 belt lifter from a large nozzle if you wanted to). Sweet find!!!

Kirby Model 562 and White Cord Pics

Congrats on your find, and don't feel bad about what you spent. I don't even want to say how much I paid for 2 Sanitronic VIIs which are a pile of junk compared to yours. Check out this link, there is some useful info: http://www.1377731.com/kirby/page3.html I can't find much info on the...

    Kirby Tradition deep cleaning results

I let my mom borrow a G5 that I was going to sell for $150. She wanted to vacuum her house really good before it got steam cleaned, so I told her she could borrow it and give it a good test drive (it was dead when I got it, I opened it up and cleaned the contacts and changed the cord end and it...

    Shop Vacs

I have a Shop-Vac ultra, 60L/13gal. 6HP It's great and extremely powerful. I use it for everything, including cleaning the vacuums in my collection! I also use it for anything construction- drywall, sawdust, etc. I hook it up directly to my mitre saw or table saw while running (like a dust...

Please recommend me a vacuum for cockroaches

Shop vac, perhaps with a cheap paper bag, toss the bag out after and then you can clean the inside of the vac again and it won't be so disgusting. I just have a hard time believing that they would find their way out of the vacuum but then again I know nothing about cockroaches.

    Kirby D-80 Funny Story.

I was testing out a G5 the other day with the bag/emtor removed (using a screw driver to poke the safety switch.) Yeah it's pretty loud but I guess i was expecting it. ;)

As Requested, The Kirby Heritage G Prototype "Prometheus"

Very cool! Is there any sticker on the bottom of the vac?

    Kirby G-Series attachments interchangeable?

The hose on the G3 works on the G4, but not the G5 or newer (I'm not sure what newer hoses are compatible with each other). But yes the shampooer works on all of them.

Please outline the differences between the Kirby G models

If you are looking for a G series don't worry so much about the model and features (although you might want a G5 or newer) more important is the condition of the machine. they will all clean almost equally and are all very durable. You can put the newest cloth HEPA bags in the G3 so all this...

Your one favorite Kirby OF ALL TIME

If the Heritage/84 had a nicer looking belt lifter, I think it would be my favorite. The sticker on them is boring, other than that I love how the machine looks with the thicker bag (over the Tradition and previous cloth bags). I like the solid bag holder as well compared to the flimsy wire...

    Why so many Kirby Omega's?

Dave, I have no idea what Kirby has up their sleeves for their 100th anniversary, but I'm hoping they will have more then 1 model. Perhaps something small and light and more maneuverable like a 500/Sanitronic. They could easily crank out 7+ amps and it would be a hell of a machine!

    Vintage eBay thread #1

Wish that COMVAC wasn't such a crazy price, that is a badass looking machine I'd love in my collection!

    Why so many Kirby Omega's?

Hmm interesting. I too notice TONS of Omega stuff on ebay, not so much locally likely due to age. Classic III and Tradition stuff is pretty scarce considering. Took me months to find a Tradition locally, and I had to drive 2 hrs to get it. Lots of Heritage/II around not really any Legend...

any interest in a original Kirby 505 bag?

People go wild over the old 500 series bags. I know when I got my 510 and posted pictures everyone was just talking about how the bag was original and in good shape (like the rest of the vacuum didn't even exist! lol) I paid $100 for the 510. I think $200 is not unreasonable considering you...

    Kirby polishing

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the polish will always turn black on the rag, even when the metal is polished up as much as you can get it. That's just what polish does.
