    Vacuum Storage...What to do?

Ahh the answer. What I do is throw away the hoses, bags and motors, cut them up, accessorize them with found objects and repaint them and then they are good for any environment. But, maybe that is not what you had in mind (smile). http://www.goodfirm.com/marksart

Ok, I just fell out of my chair....

Collections Years ago, I represented the administrator of an estate of a collector. The place was a stuffed mess (I am working on such an estate now). Anyway, in a garage we found a stack of something - plywood? But there were closed spaces in between the sheets. It turned out that they were 4'...

    The age of space.......

Space Cargo Barge I think Dave's comment that it might lend itself to a Star Warsesque Space Cargo Barge is spot on. We could use the bag cover bubble area as the command cockpit, etc. And that aluminum cuts like butter. Fun, fun, fun.

Restoration Pete, Keep us apprised of your restoration efforts. This one was in a wet dirt floor cellar when I found it - all nasty and corroded. But, as you can see, it shined up just fine.

Lockheed L-649 When I saw the title of this thread, I was certain that Airway Charlie would tell us about greasing bearings on the Lockheed L-649 Constellation. Note: The L-749 (I think) became a C-121 for military purposes and the RC-121 was used for aerial surveillance through the 60's. The...

Impressed Rick, Nice work. Have you ever thought of using your talents to move beyond restoration and trying a little customization? What I like about this old sheet metal is that you can have the same fun and creativity my brother and I had in the body shop in the 60's working on cars except...
