Any info about vintage Bosch Upright Vac?

Nice. I don't know anything about it. Perhaps it's more common in Germany?

    Royal Lux D770

    I'm guessing a 100v machine won't mind 120v too much.

    Hoover 725

https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:7151519 I made a cord clip for the motor cord. Oh also, I ended up using a Sanitaire belt. It's beefier than the original belt, but the amount of stretch seems right.

Hello, and asking for help with an Electolux polisher, 1960s

It depends if the bearings are plain or ball. Plain bearings should be oiled, but ball bearings will probably be fine if left alone. Usually you can tell if there are holes to put oil in.

Hello, and asking for help with an Electolux polisher, 1960s

32V was common in homes that were not on a power grid, and had their own little baby power plant. Usually a one cylinder engine and a battery bank. Farm houses, mostly. Light bulbs and appliances were available in 32VDC.

Achieving original Hoover Model 541 finish

It looks like metallic paint. If I had to venture a guess... I would say it was polished first then bead blasted. Or maybe the other way around. You might want to experiment on other cast aluminum stuff. Get an old engine oil pan or transmission case from a mechanic shop.

    Westinghouse canister rebuild

I wonder what kind of cutting accuracy you could expect from sendcutsend.com. You might be able to reverse engineer the fan and order new precut aluminum, and assemble it yourself. (It kind of does look like a Lamb motor fan, not that I'm an expert.)

    Hoover 725

Hi Jeff! That's a nice one. My bag looks way different. So mistakes were made today. I had the motor apart to clean it, make the brushes and adjust the brush holder gap. Decided to polish it, too. Well, the polishing wheel sort of ate the motor cord. The plug was fine. I have a spool of this...

Hello, and asking for help with an Electolux polisher, 1960s

Not sure. Never seen one. You might be able to improvise a vacuum cleaner belt. Is it a flat belt? V belt? Square belt? Round belt? Cogged belt?

That's quite cool. I have no idea, though. I would imagine schematics are unobtainable. Get your screwdriver and get crackin m8.

Good eyes. Yes it is. I own a 1977 LTD, without tilt/cruise. So I picked that up when the chance presented itself. I have the rest of the gizmos to add cruise, but the column is a tad different. Perhaps over the winter I'll take the column out of the LTD, and swap parts around until I have a...

    Hoover 725

Hi all, I have been absent for a long time, hope you have been well. This is an estate sale find. Old people house, they had three more Hoovers that look like they were purchased once a decade. The bag is in very nice shape, I'm just washing it, it was filthy and has a stubborn water stain. The...

What's your opinion on customizing old vac's?

As long as it's not irreversible. Or like it's been mentioned, if the machine was in such a poor shape to begin with that an irreversible modification is the only way to preserve it, then yeah. Or if it's some kind of machine that there's already a million of them out there still. Granted that...

    Hoover Concept Power Surge Wiring

The grease may burn a bit, I doubt you would smell it. A noticeable spark means the switch probably has a problem. Make sure it's fully engaged to one position or the other. If it's an old switch, it's possible it has arced many times and burnt the PCB material the bottom of the switch is made...

    Shark Vacuum Fascination

Half the crowd here already collects plastic bagless vacs of, shall we say, "questionable collectablity." Why should Shark be any different? Yeah, I really don't get all the hate they get. To be fair, I just like them as usable appliances, not collector items.

Older Kenmore Canister Vac motor issues

Probably ordinary ball bearings. They can be replaced. Check the commutator to make sure it's not burned up or badly scored, that would be a deal breaker.
