    Shampooing a carpet

I have a trailer with a small amount of carpet in it that needs to be cleaned. I do not have hydro and relying on a battery vacuum. Is a can of foaming carpet shampoo that you let dry and vacuum up asking for a big mess? I have liquid carpet cleaner that goes into a wet vacuum. Would it be...

Vintage Braun appliances - any fans?

Braun I have always loved the look of Braun appliances. Have the stick blender and used to have the shaver years ago. I have burned through 5 coffee makers both switch, button and rocker switch. This coffee maker I got at a thrift store for $7. It was like brand new. I wanted the red one back in...

    Battery vacuum advice

I have a trailer in a trailer park that has no hydro. I am looking for a chargeable vacuum not so much for floors but for cleaning window sills, mattress and crevices. Something with lots of tools. What is the best brand and that holds the charge the longest? Anything but a Dyson.

    scrubbing floors

Noticed my parents kitchen floor could use a good scrub. It is lino with a bit of a texture and looks kinda grubby. How do you use a floor polisher on it? Do you mop and then scrub it or do you really have to soak it?

    Kirby question.

I have a Heritage Kirby that started to smell like burning rubber. I took it to a vacuum store and had it checked and a new belt put on. Same thing. Two minutes into vacuuming it starts to smell like burnt rubber. What is going on? The little green light doesn't light up anymore either. Still...

    Kirby questions.

Not much dirt in the bag but it really stinks of basement. Ultimate embarrassment or fantasy for a Kirby to be sucked by a Queen?

    Kirby questions.

This Kirby was left in a rental house I was painting and was heading for the garbage. I brought it home. I have not been paying attention. How old is it? At least it works but the brush roll is seized and will not turn. The belt is still in one piece.

    Bug in a Vacuum.

I read the review of this book in the paper and had to get the book from the library. It has a great story to it about a bug going through 5 stages of being sucked up. The illustrations are beautiful. It also features a wiener dog which I am quite fond of.

Secrets and questions about the G E Swivel top.

The way it looks reminds me of the Filter Queen with the latches and tools on top.

Secrets and questions about the G E Swivel top.

I picked this vacuum up on the side of the road about a month ago. I haven't had time to clean it up yet. I really need to get a Mr Clean eraser. When I took it apart, I was suprised to find a homemade cloth bag inside. Could you run these vacuums with a cloth bag? I was suprised again to see...

    Free GE

I was out for a walk and found this vacuum at the curb. It has to be an old lady's vacuum. So well cared for. Even with the tape on the hose, it still has great power. Little use on the power head.

    Just checking before I toss.

This vacuum is dangerously close to going into the garbage. I saved it from the dumpster in 1999. The lady that tossed it had put on a new plug and it wasn't on right. My room mate fixed it and it has worked ever since. The problem is the hose, cord and power head. The power head died ages ago...
