See link for new Sentria II. Personally, I prefer the design of the former Sentria, but that's just me.

Royal Metal Vacuums - New, Used, or Decades Old Used?

I agree with the suggestion to buy a used 900 series from the 1990's with the adjust-O-rite step-on height adjuster. They were made in the US, very good quality and should last forever.

    NEW THREAD FROM HOPESTER

Hi Hopester - I'm happy for you that you're getting good responses. Providence has a way of caring for us. I've been in your position and overwhelmed with vacuum parts having to dispense with them to move on. Just know you'll get through this and with money too. ;-D As a reminder, please let me...

Pre-war Eureka vacuum in need of help!

TRY AN OLD ESTABLISHED VAC REPAIR STORE... THEY MAY HAVE SOME PARTS THAT WILL WORK. GOOD NEWS IS THAT THERE ARE STILL MANY OF THE OLD EUREKAS AROUND FOR SPARES. YOU MIGHT FIND A JUNKER ON EBAY FOR CHEAP.

    Hoover 150 Bakelite hood restoration

Oh!... Thanks for the photos. I'm glad that Brasso worked out for you. I was surprised; I didn't think the hoods looked that bad for being in the sun for 30 years.

    Hoover 150 Bakelite hood restoration

post some photos...... I think whatever method you prefer to start with - moderation is the key. You certainly would not want to do more damage. Post some photos, because it's hard to visualize what you're talking about.

    Hoover 150 Bakelite hood restoration

150 hood..... Don't think I've ever encountered a severely sun-baked bakelite hood. This could be a one-of-a-kind challenge. A standard recommendation many club members rely on is to try giving it a good rub-down with Brasso. A light sanding with a very fine grit wet sandpaper is another...

    Hamilton Beach No.12....

John... Thanks for that information and for your interest in this HB thread. I think I'm getting an idea of the approximate age of the No.12, but still trying find some documented production dates to verify. Until then, a Hamilton Beach "cyclonic" milkshake might have to do.

Looking to sell all of my vacuums

Auction... If you go to auction with your vacs, they will arrive at their true value. Just a suggestion: Don't do what some sellers do by listing a ridiculously high starting price. This practice just puts bidders off, resulting in no bids at all.

    Hamilton Beach No.12....

John... In the 1947 Good Housekeeping ad, wouldn't that be a model 14 at the bottom rather than a model 12 because of the obvious headlamp? I couldn't find any notation for the model number of the upright. In the following post regarding the adaptable motor, could that be Mr. Beach's fractional...
