    Interstate Revelation (C2?)

@ Kirbylux77 Already ordered a non-electric hose along with some bags/filters. Also thank you for the heads up on the motor brush holders. I had no idea! The commutator looks to be fine and there was no groove. I will place an order for a commutator stone and brushes to have on hand for the future.

    Interstate Revelation (C2?)

Thank you kindly! And thank you for clarifying on the model as well! It’s so relieving to see the original decals still in place, but has the right amount of wear as to where I won’t be afraid to use it. I suppose that’s what most early canisters were used for up until the addition of a power...

    Interstate Revelation (C2?)

FB Marketplace can be a hit or miss sometimes. Filled with ads and unrelated items to your search. Fortunately a late night browse on Tuesday yielded an awesome find. Ad was for a furniture business, but they also sold antiques inside their store. What actually drew me to the place was the...

In search of a General Electric Roll Easy

@ Gabowenjr I just saw that this morning! As you stated it is unfortunately missing some bits. I’ll keep an eye on it for the time being. If you ever decide to sell your machine, do let me know!

In search of a General Electric Roll Easy

@ bnsd60m9200 I suppose that is indeed true. The attachments rarely stray away from the machine. I can also paint up some later model swivel top attachments in a similar color scheme with the machine. That happens to be the case with my current machine, its using a later model swivel top floor...

In search of a General Electric Roll Easy

Quite possibly a longshot, but it wouldn't hurt to ask. I am in search of a GE Roll Easy, any generation and in any shape, so long as the motor works. I currently have a 3rd generation model and possibly want to complete the set. (I assume the GE bug has bitten me hard recently.) If you don't...

    General Electric Model AVF-807

Belts! Hey guys, I went to the vacuum store in my area and found a replacement. A Hoover 38528-036 flat belt! Has the right about of tension and doesn't slip an inch when I placed my hand against the spinning brushroll. Hope this info was helpful! -Alex

    General Electric Model AVF-807

I already downloaded the manual during my research session of this model. Though the link will be helpful to those who have the same machine! :) If I don't get any tips from the forum I'll head out the the vacuum shop in town and see what flat belts will fit. -Alex

    General Electric Model AVF-807

Just recently acquired this lovely machine today. A GE model AVF-807. There isn't much, if any information that I could find online aside from the manual, one VL post and an article saying these had unreliable electric motors. The bag and belt cover also don't appear to be original to the...

    Hoover Model 28 Special - July 1953

Excellent work on getting her going again Pete! These ol 28s were definitely built like tanks. Also some of us young people (myself being in my early 20s) do have an interest these older machines. I do my rebuilds and repairs within my own bedroom in fact. Mostly a coffee can Hoover collector...

Keeping parts in stock (overkill maybe?)

I do the same thing, when I go thrifting. I pick up bags for the older machines and leave behind the newer style stuff for the others. I've came across so many 50 cent Electrolux packs in the area since I moved into my new home. Gotta get them while we can and while they're cheap!
