    Sanitaire Blue Line Uprights Discontinued

I will also say that I have considered purchasing a second s635 and keeping it in its box, as a keepsake for myself. I don't expect it to be particularly valuable later, with its 5 amp "blender" motor, but I'm young enough to appreciate it later on. I have an extra ST dirt tube that I can keep...

    Sanitaire Blue Line Uprights Discontinued

F&G Blue Sanitaire with ST Dirt Tube I have a couple of 5 amp Sanitaires that I use regularly. I have the s635a with an ST dirt tube so that it uses the superior ST bags. I really like that setup for at home, as the belts last much longer than on my 7 amp Sanitaires on my home carpet and...

    New Sanitaire Sc684

ST Bags I do like the Sanitaire ST bag system. I have the "dirt tube and overmold assembly" for three of my Sanitaire vacuums at home. For blue line Sanitaires and Eurekas, the dirt tube simply installs over the flexible F&G tube at the bottom of the vacuum bag. My F&G work vacuum, with the...

    New Sanitaire Sc684

Upper Bearing in Blender Motor I do have the newer style blender motor in my 5 amp Sanitaire. The potential for it to have a ball bearing is encouraging! Thanks for sharing.

    New Sanitaire Sc684

Old vs New Pancake Motors I love Sanitaire vacuums! Having had a few of my own that I've used for custodial work and at home, I've not had any issues with the newer style pancake motors. Of course, I'm the only one using my machines so they aren't abused, but the newer style motors seem to...

    What's Your Favorite Bag Type?

Eureka F&G My favorite bag is the good old Eureka F&G. I think it's mainly because of the nostalgia of such an early top-fill bag for an upright. I still run two F&G uprights weekly. They aren't really the best at anything, but I can get twenty Eureka branded bags for $15.00 delivered via...

    My Sanitaire Family Picture

Eureka 1934b I've had the Eureka 1934b, and at the heart it truly was an sc679. The 1934b is a great value at Amazon. If it came with a slightly longer cord, it would be nearly perfect for my home needs. At first, I used it with a 2-wire 20 foot appliance extension cord from Wal-Mart which...

Best F & G bag brands to use?

Best Filtering vs. Best Value For better filtering, I like Sanitaire F&G allergy filtration bags. The Eureka "Filteraire" bags also seem to do well. I use Sanitaire bags in my F&G machine at home. At work I run cheap F&G bags in my two vacuums. Right now, I'm using the basic Eureka branded...

    My Sanitaire Family Picture

Backpack Vac I'd love to try a Sanitaire backpack vac. My school has Proteam Tail backpack vacuums. They are powerful, but their tiny paper bags quickly get clogged by the fine, powdery clay dust that gets tracked in from the playground. I only do custodial work on the weekends, and find my...

    My Sanitaire Family Picture

Blue Line Sanitaire I'm glad they still have blue line Sanitaire vacuums, too. I just stopped by vacshack.com's brick and mortar store, and noticed they had an s647 and an s675 on display. They already know what I usually want when I walk in. Four of my Sanitaires are less than five years...

    My Sanitaire Family Picture

Headlights on Sanitaire Vacuums I believe you still get a headlight if you buy a blue line s647 or s675. The two shops near me still sell both models with headlights. None of my 5 amp vacuums have headlights, nor does the 2 speed sc889. Since I use those vacuums mostly at work, I don't...

    My Sanitaire Family Picture

It's rare that I have all five of my Sanitaire vacuums together at the same building, so I decided to take a family picture of the five of them together. They are, from left to right, an sc889, an sc679 with a black base and bag, another sc679 with a red base and bag, an s635, and an s675. I...

Kirby Heritage II Legend Airflow Losses

Comparison to a Sanitaire Thanks for posting these airflow loss results. I'm curious to see if you have access to a Sanitaire for performing your airflow loss tests. I've had both Sanitaires and Kirbys, and have always been curious about which one has the higher airflow at the nozzle. I know...

Expirience With 90's/EARLY 00's Dirt Devils

The only Dirt Devil we've owned was a red hand vac from the early '90s with a shake-out bag. We used it for the stairs at my dad's house. Having a brush roll made it work far better than using the shop vac on the stairs. We had a Hoover Convertible for the wall-to-wall carpeting.

    MIELE SOLARIS ELECTRO PLUS

Pryor, OK? Nice find! Good luck on finding someone to trade with you. I noticed that you live in Pryor, OK. I used to live in Wagoner, and still have family in Muskogee and Tulsa. I currently live in Okla. City.

    Sanitaire S650A

I love the 2 speed motor! I've been using an SC889 for the last month or so, and have fallen in love with its 2 speed motor. The stepdown mode is great for cleaning rugs, and is quiet enough for vacuuming classrooms while they are occupied.

Finally Sprung for a Sanitaire Quiet Clean SC889

I'm left handed, too! I'm used to it, as my S675 has the handle mounted switch, too. One disappointment I've had is not with the vacuum itself, but with the bulk pack of style ST bags that came with it from thinkvacuums.com. The synthetic bags I normally use leave the outer bag nice and...

Finally Sprung for a Sanitaire Quiet Clean SC889

Koblenz Belt Vac-O-Matic, thanks for the tip about the Koblenz belts. I bet one of the two nearby shops has them. I have largely avoided the problem with careful height adjustment, but wouldn't mind trying a different belt. On that note, I have made a second attempt at ordering an 8 position...

Finally Sprung for a Sanitaire Quiet Clean SC889

After talking myself out of it many times, I finally bought myself a new Sanitaire for use at school with the weekend church rental. I opted for a Quiet Clean SC889, as I use it on Sundays while there are still church members in the vicinity. It's especially useful when the church setup crew...

Similarities and Differences between Sanitaire Models SC886 and SC679

Belt Life and Pulley Wear Kirby519, thanks for the tip about belt life being shortened by a worn pulley. I bought the s675 new in January, and noticed the belt issue from the beginning. The pulley doesn't show any wear at this point. I will keep an eye on the pulley for wear. Careful height...
