Wanted - HOOVER Agitator for Wind Tunnel U6311-930

This self propelled vac used one of three agitator brushes: 48414004, 48414013 or 48416009. I need a new one to replace the worn bristled original. http://shermanstops.com

How remove Kirby G4's belt lifter hook or servicing?

Belt lifter has been serviced and works smoother. The task was fairly simple. I buffed the hook with a brass wire brush and did not need to spray with lacquer as originally anticipated. All parts were cleaned with WD40 and wiped dry, assembled and job is complete. For a vac that's run often...

Has Kirby Significantly Improved Since the G3?

Model variations and a search for legacy of the Heritage My mom's penchant for Kirby vacs has rubbed off on me. This thread has some excellent history of design trends by Kirby. I bid on a Heritage on "e" and might just get it. If this craze keeps up I'll have to build a workshop for vacuum...

How remove Kirby G4's belt lifter hook or servicing?

I thought I posted this query earlier today but it doesn't show up...sorry if this is a duplicate post. The G4 Belt Lifter needs to be wire brushed to remove rust and corrosion, sprayed with lacquer, silicone lube and reassembled. It is fastened to the square knob with a coarse screw. I have...

    Kirby G4 wiring connections

Following full disassembly Thursday evening I found the port Complete take down revealed the square port with a male tab inside, just right of the Switch Mounting tab (screw hole). Even though this was right under my nose I could not find it until I got this far. Now the crud in the case will...

    Kirby G4 wiring connections

Appreciation Thanks for your reply...I'll try it today. You're right it is hard to see. The smaller of two wires, coming from the headlight, has to have a connection somewhere on the switch. That is what I cannot locate. Stay tuned for the news later today or tomorrow.

    Kirby G4 wiring connections

Photo shows the right side of the chassis where three large connectors are fine. But there is a smaller connector with a female tab and I cannot locate it's match. The schematic from www.vacpartswarehouse.com is difficult to discern on this item. Please guide me. Thanks.[this post was last...

Time to get another Fantom Cyclone XT I guess!

Complicated yet made to fit precisely together. Hey fantomfan, The farther I dug into the FM780 the greater my curiosity grew to determine where and how any stress point might have caused electrical surge to result in electrical intermittence. Even the agitator brush was multiple parts of which...

Time to get another Fantom Cyclone XT I guess!

Where do you go from here with the treasured trash? I enjoyed you detailed description and I empathize with you for being sucked into the Cyclone. It would be interesting if someone could afford to set up a "clearing house" salvage store for Fantom vacs. I have learned a lot by working on a...

Wands are on order and the unit will be like new to sell. I hate to let this one get sold because it is so compact, easy to service and runs so quiet.
