    New Kirby model !!

Just curious . . . Except for the design of the bag, this model doesn't look a whole lot different than the Avalir. So, Dysonman1, what is it about this model that makes you say you love it? Is it the bag design, or is it how the unit as a whole meets the eye? Just curious before I go tal to...

    Kirby Classic CR 1970-1973

My first Kirby . . . Beautiful restoration of a Kirby Classic. This is the first Kirby I bought. Before this purchase, I knew almost nothing of the Kirby brand. It so happened that my brother was between jobs, and he hooked up with a friend demonstrating this vacuum. Of course, I walked into...

    I now own a Kirby

KirbyClassicIII Yes. I've seen pics of this model. I think that was a good color choice. Back in '78 or '79, I bought a Hoover Concept One model 3105. That was a white and green model. It looked good in that color.

    I now own a Kirby

Yes . . . I believe he did use this paint. At the time, if I remember correctly, he told me this paint worked well with that plastic part. Joe

    I now own a Kirby

Kirby G4 . . . This thread began with a discussion of the Kirby G4. The G4 is a favorite of mine. I like the dark gray color and style of the motor housing (like the G3). The mini emptor is replaced with a more updated one, and I added a better brushroll. This Kirby cleans very well. I use it...

    I now own a Kirby

Avocado green . . . Hi Alex, You mentioned in your post the popularity of avocado green back in the day. Yes, it was everywhere: carpets, appliances, the DS80, and anywhere else. Yep, I owned an avocado green refrigerator, stove, dishwasher, washer, dryer. All served me well and are now...

Other Kirby items I have collected.

Knives . . . Nice items. Although I don't smoke, I do like the ashtray. Do you happen to have the Scott & Fetzer labeled steak knives they gave in return for a demonstration?

What vacuums are you hoping would come out in 2022?

The metal Royal uprights were a valid competitor to Kirby. I have several, and my 8300 model sucks up what's on the carpet, in the carpet, and under the carpet. I like them just as much as my Kirbys. It's a shame that TTi took over Royals and discontinued them.

    The END of Sears, finally.

Back in the early 80s, we bought a Lady Kenmore washer and dryer. The washer lasted until 2002, when replacement parts became unavailable. We replaced the washer with a Kenmore Elite HE washer. The Lady K dryer is still going strong. Back in 1970, I bought a Sears Coldspot refrigerator in...

    Got Another Heritage...

When your Heritage arrives, put up a couple of pics to show what it looks like out of the box. Give a prognosis of what you have to do to bring it up to your standards.

    Got Another Heritage...

Drifting just a bit . . . Apologies for drifting away just a bit from the Heritage discussion, but since I mentioned my Kirby Tradition in my post above, I thought I would show some pics. My thought about this vacuum is its style can be an introduction to the Heritage line--from blue to orange...

    Got Another Heritage...

Well . . . I really don't know if the color of the fan makes a difference. The new orange bag is bright and attractive. I like the whole Heritage line--Heritage I through Legend II. They are all stylish and clean well. Another good-looking vacuum is my Kirby Tradition. I consider it as an...

    Got Another Heritage...

My Heritage 1 . . . I wanted a Heritage 1 for my collection, and I got one from Kent Oyler after he serviced the motor and put in a kevlar fan. I had him replace the used dump bag with a new zippered bag, an H2 mini emtor, and a new fill tube with an F-style bag connector. I also included a new...

Got my copy . . . My copy came in today, Feb. 2nd. That's reasonably good time considering we are both in PA. Kudos to you, John, that you got them out before the big snowstorm came your way. That nice red Hoover Model 29 on the cover helped to brighten my morning after being outdoors cleaning...

Just For Fun: What is your favorite vacuum cleaner(s)

Sentimental memory . . . The first vacuum I bought for myself was a Hoover Convertible, Model 35, the one in an attractive shade of yellow. I believe they called the color Venetian Gold. I bought it in 1966 when I was a freshman in college. I loved that vacuum because it was a Hoover, was...

    Oreck Edge Canister Filter

Hello All . . . I have an Oreck Edge canister vacuum model CC1400B. As a canister, it has its good points and not so good points. Fortunately, I have other better canisters. I have a supply of bags for it, but as for the hepa filter, I have been striking out finding a replacement. The part...

Anyone else surprised by a found vac that becomes a favorite?

My Gsix . . . . . . is also one of my favorite vacuums, even among my other Kirbys. I do have an affinity for its black and yellow trim, even more so than the throwback black and red color scheme and handle design of the Avalir. Comparing the two, I think the Gsix has a sleeker appearance, and...
