    Strange Noises

Hello. I fitted a 1/2" piece of vinyl tubing to my bissell wet/dry vac's hose, and while it still has good suction through the tubing, the noise from the motor is quite distressing. I know that this noise is a function of higher speed due to reduced airflow. The machine is from the mid to late...

    Tornado Wet/Dry Vacuum

I don't know anything about this model in particular, but it's probably not much different from newer wet/dry vacs. The formula doesn't seem to have changed much over the years. Does it have a blower port? Also, What parts are you looking for?

    The best above floor cleaner?

I use a 6 gallon wet/dry vacuum with a 12 foot hose for all the above ground stuff. It works great, and it's cheap. The only problem is the noise. If filtration is an issue, better filters can usually be bought. If not, they can be improvised easily. Electrostatic HVAC filtration media works...

    My Collection! :)

This is awesome I'm totally stoked that I found another vacuum cleaner enthusiast my own age. We should share some ideas, man. I'm trying to start looking for shop-vacs to collect.

    My Collection! :)

Totally didn't look at the year... Somehow I missed the age of this thread. Which vacuum did you end up taking with you?

    My Collection! :)

Great Collection Well done, man. You have some cool machines. Certainly beats my grand total of 3 vacuums, one of which is currently completely disassembled. It's awesome that you got a shop-vac as a prize. All I ever got was candy and stuff like that... About the dorm, I live in the dorms at...

    Bissell Carpet Machine

The gaskets are what holds the motor in. There's one around the fan's inlet, and another above the fan housing. They serve to keep keep the working and cooling airflow separate from each other, and to absorb some of the motor's vibration. There's also one around the tank rim. I honestly have no...

    My Designs.

Way ahead of you Yep. Totally agree. I only show my designs to people I know and trust. Mostly other people my own age, none of whom have any interest in vacuum cleaners. There aren't a lot of other 18 year old vacuum cleaner enthusiasts that I know of...

    Bissell Carpet Machine

I found a Bissell Carpet cleaner last summer in my grandmother's shed and I have been wanting to restore it. It is basically a shop-vac, and if I were to use it, I would use it as such. Due to the age of the machine, many of its parts have been discontinued. Does anybody have any idea where to...

    My Designs.

As far as the singer goes... I've never seen that twin-fan design on a direct flow system, but I like it. Twice the airflow. What would be the benefits of a hard-bag system on that machine?

    My Designs.

Read my mind I totally agree, and in fact, I have in the past designed shop-vacs with multi-cyclonic systems. Using cyclones to separate most of the dust, and then having one or two filters to collect the rest would be a great system for any sort of dust collection application, and would be...

I'll look into it I'll do my research. Which aspects need designing or re-designing?

What's the gig? Which types of cleaners would you want to launch? I'd love to work for someone at this.

    My Designs.

Unfortunately, I don't have the means to upload any of my designs at the moment. However, I am always looking for ideas. My area of interest is primarily in wet/dry vacuums. Any thoughts, ideas, comments on improvements that could be made to existing ones?
