    Visit to Hooverland

ozhoover What I meant was that there are well known vacuum collectors who do not 'show' their machines to anyone. It's their choice, of course. I know of one specific collector who buys (and has bought) hundreds of vintage vacuums and does in fact have a 'silo' (he built a six car garage just...

Why yes, I am grateful to have John Gregory. The ultimate Hoover guru. He actually sells Hoovers and repairs Hoovers. So glad he actually does something with them. Don’t you just hate it when people stow them away and they never see the light of day again? So happy that John Gregory shares with...

    A HOOVER home

The famed HOOVER (hoovrah) cleaners have a place in the modern home. Even The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel loved mine. The second to the last episode features my HOOVER prominently. What would we do without pictures? Two more of my "Mid Century Modern" machines will be on TV during the next season.

    Final year-vac store clean out

Jimmy Hope your shop clean out is going well. It's quite difficult to rehome a lifetime's collection. I've been to your shop (more than once) and you were kind enough to send me home with things I've had for at least 25 years now. Things that completed machines in my collection. Thank you...

I’m going to be sending this beautiful lime green Hoover quick broom to my good friend John Gregory. Thank goodness he is not a Hoover snob, I know how much he also likes Sanitaire. The genuine GE RollEasy bags for a different friend who asked for them. They were just in the picture. Pictures...

    Hoover Windtunnel 2

The electronics in the Windtunnel II were terrible. I gave away a brand new one, used only once, where the electronics failed and the filter failed to turn. I don't know if Ryan ever did anything with it.

    Final year-vac store clean out

Jimmy: I'm going through the same thing you are with wanting to retire and close the store. Most of my machines were already restored, so they had to sell on eBay since they went for more than just parts machines. Can't wait to get out of the vacuum business, I've been fixing filthy sweepers...

    When was this Eureka released?

That model launched with the Excalibur line. The green top-of-the-line model was sold in Vac Shops. They used EX bags if I'm not mistaken.

    A HOOVER home

A friend gave me my Hoover electric knife to replace a Hoover electric knife that sadly grew legs and left me. I love my Hoovers.

John Gregory Are there any other uprights from my collection you are interested in? I also have lots of literature, spec, sheets, owners, manuals, etc. that I have been collecting for the last 45 years. I’m going to send any of it to you that you want. Thank you for being such an awesome...

Sam Thank you for taking time to let us know about your trip to John's. He is the ultimate Hoover guru. What I love most about John is the fact that he's also interested in other brands of cleaners - even though he has sold Hoover his entire life. What a great thing it is to be able to sell...

    kirby brush roll ?

The ends are odd, nothing like a Kirby. Kirby has a vinyl 'cushion' on each end. Also, Kirby bearing covers do not go 'over' the brush. The nut holding one of the adjustment screws is also odd. It's possible it's a bojack Kirby brush, but all the bojack brush rolls I've seen are made by CWP...

    Vacuum Cleaner Manufacturer Lawsuits

Dyson sued Amway/Bissell over their blatant rip off of his patents. Filter Queen sued Lewyt for the blatant rip off of their patents. Air-Way sued Hoover for the rip off of their patent on the bag. Hoover sued Air-Way over their rip off of the beater bar Hoover sued Western Electric for their...

When I repair a vacuum, I purposely do NOT use the 'correct' color replacement part. It's how I know what I fixed the next time I see the vacuum. Yesterday, a woman came in with her G5 Kirby. It has a G4 handle grip, a G3 upper cord hook, a G4 mini-emptor, and a G6 power cord. With respect...
