    My New Aerus Vacuums

Ironic how you can't take politics or taxes out of any talk. Doesn't matter where you are. My wife opened her own insurance agency two years ago and when we got the number for health insurance for her and her employee (I'm on Medicare) and my drug policy, we realized that there won't be any...

    Aerus Lux Gaurdian Platinum

Are these software fixes something a user can do by hooking up via wifi or an ethernet connection? Is is something you have to have them do in the store? Does it cost you? Just curious to see vacuum companies doing software upgrades. Interesting and a good things.

Help! Shopping for New Vacuum and Overwhelmed

funny as I never thought about a cord winder until I hit this board. I had to have one and it has to be heavy duty in order to not break. It's funny how important a long cord and hose became to me. I was all set to negotiate to by the newest (now discontinued) Capricorn as my wife and I...

Advice, looking for the BEST canister (Unhappy w/Miele)

Cost is a huge issue As an audiophile since I was 13, I understand that the more you go up in cost, you get incremental boosts. I have always prided myself on choosing the best products at various price points and knowing the market to find value items that work well together for less than the...

    My New Aerus Vacuums

Dan, you're in NJ is anything within 45 minutes? LOL....I always had long commutes, even when I owned my own executive recruiting agency. 45 minutes just meant isolation for making important calls and not getting interrupted, lol.

Help! Shopping for New Vacuum and Overwhelmed

I've never heard anything bad about the Tri Star vacuums. I know they are owned by Aerus and some parts are made in the same plant in VA as the Lux, but I thought the cost for new TOL ones were in the 2k range. I can't find anyone selling them online (with the price posted).

Advice, looking for the BEST canister (Unhappy w/Miele)

You guys are most probably right about switching I do love the Sebo and it does a great job. I will be staying with the Sebo and if newer, better, smaller machines start to hit the market in the future, I'll make a decision then. I have a strong feeling that Riccar/Simplicity will be coming...

Advice, looking for the BEST canister (Unhappy w/Miele)

how do they figure out what store will deliver to you when ordering things? Just curious more than anything. I assume they have territories that are figured out and all. Can you just call the shop of your choice? What is the range they'd deliver do you think? I still keep thinking I may...

    My New Aerus Vacuums

Thanks for the history lesson on Lux. Very cool. Of all the Lux vacuums I tried in their store (I think it was all of them), I only liked the Platinum. For the price, I didn't think the other ones were worth what they wanted to be honest. I may have had a bad experience with the shop...

Advice, looking for the BEST canister (Unhappy w/Miele)

wow, this is interesting George, shoot me an email. The Lux is the way to go if you are going over 1k, but make sure you like their tools. If you want Riccar/Simplicity, then email me as they had three new Moxies for 599 and he'd throw in a bunch of tools and bags as he wants to get rid of...

Consumer Reports (March 2013) Vacuum Tests

I don't ever use CR as an audiophile, I learned at a young age that they only go with the more commercially known names. I can PROMISE you that a Mark Levinson amplifier is better than the same companies Harmon Kardon amp at EVERYTHING. Harmon industries would tell you the same as they bought...

Help! Shopping for New Vacuum and Overwhelmed

Brian told me that I should change it. It was filled with black dirt. Not much in the way of the grey fuzz, but tons of heavy dirt. It shows how badly Oreck did. I dont' use the upstairs often and tha'ts the carpeted area. I wasn't losing any suction at all either and that was a good...

Made in the USA, does it matter? What is truly built to last?

GMa That's why I went canister and Sebo. No Chinese made parts and a solid machine that can get anywhere in my house I need it to. I got my ex to get the Kirby last year though and she loves it. She had all carpet and I'm half wood, half carpet. Canister made MUCH more sense for me and the...

Advice, looking for the BEST canister (Unhappy w/Miele)

Didn't realize the cost of a new Tri Star until yesterday. I also didn't know that they are owned by Lux and made at the same plant. I have learned a ton on this board in the last month or so. Interesting facts and part of the American way of door to door sales.

Help! Shopping for New Vacuum and Overwhelmed

Emptied first bag tody The bag was over half full. Just shows how much the Oreck left behind, lol. The filters are as clean as day one and I never lost any suction at all. Really loving it. Wish the demo I got was white though. Black shows scratches. White, not so much. It cleaned up...

    My New Aerus Vacuums

Hmmm, govacuum.com say's wrong! Post# 215902, Reply# 235 1/25/2013 at 23:50 by electromatik (NC, USA) posts: 96 Yeah it is funny at times, but I personally have NEVER claimed any brand was the "best" because best is subjective. Other people here do it all the time however. The...

Advice, looking for the BEST canister (Unhappy w/Miele)

for me there is no question that the upright isn't close to my new canister. I have half wood and tile. Maybe more. Now I can get under all my furniture and with my MS, it's easier to get the stairs and to dust. I'm sure the uprights can have a long hose to attach to do dusting and stairs...

    My New Aerus Vacuums

I go through this all the time with high end audio. All ears are different, but some feel that some brands are better than others. It's fun to listen to.

    My New Aerus Vacuums

Dan, I hope my posts haven't upset you As I've said money aside, I'd own the Lux. Brian helped guide me through my purchase and he knows how much I'd love a Lux. I was ready to sell the Sebo is I could have gotten the Lux for 1k shipped. That's just one great machine and it feels head and...
