Company called "VCP" (Possible generic parts for Kirbys)

Kirby parts. Go to Kirby Needs.com for all kinds of new and some used Genuine Kirby parts, even for vintage and antique models. Been shopping there for two years for parts and accessories for my collection dating back to 1947 and to 2008. The selection is the best I've found online and the...

    Sentria2

DVD vs, manual I had my Sentria for four years before I stumbled on the cord lock feature in the manual. Could not figure what Kirby was thinking with that cord situation. Once I found the cord lock intructions, I now think they did great. For now I check and recheck the manual, Never know what...

    Vintage eBay thread #4

When you wrote "I want it", I wrote in, "me too." Then I decided not to bid 'cause I already have a 508, 510 and 515 and felt a little greedy. (I also have 12 Kirby's in a one bedroom apartment.) By the way, I just purchased a 518 with red trim and gold bag with red logo. I expect it by this...

    After the buffing?

When using Mother's Mag and Aluminum polish and Billet, or Flitz, even the softest paper towels can scratch the finish, or leave very fine, dulling scratches. Use the mentioned polishes with microfiber cloths by mother's or Flitz and you get really satisfying results.

    Cloth Bag Washing?

Cloth bags. Wash in cold water, mild detergent, and a little baking soda. (For odors.) (Not originally my idea.) Air dry in blocked position, (like you would a wool sweater.) Replace and add some drops of odorific on a cotton ball. I have twelve Kirby's and this works well. Can someone...

    selling the kirby 515

513 Bag You are right. This has been bugging me since I said it. Then I remember a sight describing the Kirby 500 Series in detail and, you are correct. The logo changed on the 513. Sorry for the misinformation. Search Kirby 500 and you will find this sight detailing from 505 through the Dual...

    selling the kirby 515

515 bag Here's your clue. The belt lifter is original and last of it's kind. The 516 introduced the "contemporary" cursive logo which did not appear on the 515. The original bag should be gray with the Jim Kirby signature logo like the belt lifter, suspended on the vertical stripe. The bag logo...

    Buffing -- Tips?

Polishing Sorry! About Mother's Billet suggestion, that is to be used after first polishing with Mother's Mag And Aluminum polish, just to clarify.

    Buffing -- Tips?

Buffing I use Mother's and it's good. A final hand polish with Mother's Billet leaves a clearer shine, approaching the "whiting" that Kirby uses after the polishing rouge to give it that really bright as new shine.
