    am I just paranoid?

ok, so I've noticed a difference between my older Kirby's and my G-5. When using the Sanitronic, Classic or Heritage, I can see the nozzle lifiting the carpet up off of the padding, which is telling me that there is ample suction. These machines even pull in debris from the sides of the nozzle...

Something to take my mind off of the week I've had....

So after one hell of a week, I decided I needed to focus on something other than family drama and hospitals, so, I pulled out the old Kirby Heritage my grandmother gave me back in 1999 that has been sitting in a storage closet for about three years, and decided to clean it up. Felt good to get...

Any news on the new Kirby Avalir yet?

I'm so excited with anticipation I could spit! Found this online while doing some collaborative research with a good friend (and fellow Kirby enthusiast) of mine... Looks like the official name is the Kirby "Avalir" rather than Avalier as stated in earlier posts.. Looking at the paper trail...

    Kirby 512

So I scored the first Kirby for me to own that is one of the old toggle switch models. A 512 to be exact. I went to the vac store with mom yesterday to pick up some shampoo for her bissell pro-heat and the owner (Frank) and his wife were wondering of I still had my collection, so I was telling...

    strange noise - Kirby G3

Ok, so now my G3 is making some sort of low pitched growl-like noise when I use it. Everything seems to work fine, but its becoming more and more pronounced. Is that what it sounds like when the bearings start to get dry or go bad, or could it be a prob with the transmission?

    Heard Anything

Anybody heard anything or know when a new Kirby model is hitting? Seems like its been FOREVER! I know it seems like it's usually every three years or so. I'm curious to see what type of direction they head - if any at all. They usually always tweak something and go with a new color scheme at least.

    Looking for a hose...

anyone know where I can locate a decent hose for a Kirby Dual Sanitronic 50 or 80? I'll pay! I don't see them pop up on ebay too often and I can never tell if the tan ones are for just the Sanitronic or the Dual Sanitronic as the sellers don't really specifically indicate. I'd appreciate it...

    Kirby G5 Transmission question....

I've noticed that lately, when using my G5, the transmission will engage when pushed forward, but it won't when I pull it back. The only time it will engage on the reverse stroke is if i give it a firm jolt back. It will work for a few minutes and then start acting up again. Any ideas of what...

    Kirby G-Series Outer bag replacement

How hard is it to change the outer bags on these machines? I have a G-5 that has a worn spot on the bag and I'd like to replace it. I know there are some plastic ties involved. Any info would be greatly appreciated!

    Kirby G3 questions

Does anyone know where I can purchase the rubber gasket that fits on the end of the hose where it attaches to the vacuum housing? Also, does anyone know where I can purchase a set of the aftermarket type of attachments. I like the floor brush on those better. Thanks! Cory/OKC

    Kirby D-80

Took my freshly factory refurbished Kirby D-80 for a "mini-spin" yesterday in a medium sized rug at home. I can't believe how well it functions! It was so easy to maneuver around, but yet it STILL wanted to try to eat the rug! And the lines the brushroll left... whew! Gorgeous! I try not to use...

    Testament to Kirbys cleaning ability...

I gave my best friend a Kirby Classic III about 5 years ago and he moved into a new townhome recently. He vacuumed his entire place from top to bottom with a "clean" empty bag... this is what he pulled up in one vacuuming....

    Kirby G4 Transmission question

On my G4, when I am pushing the cleaner with the tech-drive in neutral, and the power off, I hear a noise coming from the transmission area, like gears are turning.. is this normal? Sometimes it does it and sometimes it doesn't..usually whenever I turn to go around a corner is when it starts the...

    Kirby Generation Series

Are there any major differences between the Kirby G3 and G4 other than cosmetic? If I don't end up winning the Legend II I have placed a bid for on ebay, I'm going to get me my first Generation model Kirby, but I would like to know if there are any major differences, mechanically between the...

    Dyson Issues

My mothers Dyson isn't picking up surface litter like it should. Now, being a Kirby buff, I know pretty much nothing about Dysons. Do they have belts that need to be replaced every so often? If so, are they hard to change? She said she has checked and cleaned all the filters on it. She says it's...
