Got My Very First Hoover Convertible

So this morning, I went to the vacuum store in my hometown and got myself my very first Hoover Convertible. It still works, and the lady was nice enough to give me an extra belt, an extra Type A bag, and an extra bulb. Best part, it was only $79.95 (my budget is <$100). I love this vacuum very...

Windtunnel Is Gone, Powerforce Needs An Upgrade

Well folks, I have sad news. My dad threw out the Hoover Windtunnel Self-Propelled Anniversary Edition after a few years of being out of comission. I still have my Powerforce Turbo, but it's time for an upgrade. The problems with the Wndtunnel were that I couldn't get the bag door reattached...

Is The Eureka Atlantis Really That Bad?

When I was younger, I saw the commercial for a carpet extractor called the Eureka Atlantis. The feature that made the machine impressive was the fold-down handle. I remember Lowes carrying it for a brief while, then it became a Wal-Mart exclusive. I have 2 questions that need to be answered...

    Got A New Steam Mop

Around Black Friday of last week, I ordered a Black and Decker Steam Mop from Wal-Mart's website. It came around on Tuesday. After tweaking with the floor setting dial, I can now proudly say it emits steam. Best part, it cost $60, which is a good deal.

Vacuums That Failed To Sell Well In America

I'm quite certain that there are vacuums that didn't sell as well as consumers would've expected. Can anyone list the vacuums that didn't sell well and why that was the case? I know for a fact the Fantom Crosswind series and Wildcat didn't sell well due to being single-cyclonic, plus being...

What Were The Last Good Bissells Made

Can anyone know what were the last good Bissells made before the company went downhill? Just wondering because the older Bissells are becoming harder to find.

Vacuums For Future House In Asheville, NC

In 2016, my family and I will be moving to a smaller house in Asheville. Because of living in a smaller home, I will be getting rid of my Windtunnel, Steamvac, and Powerforce. Can anyone list ideas for vacuums suitable for smaller houses? I considered a Riccar Supralite/Simplicity Freedom for...

    Keeping The Powerforce Turbo Clean

My Powerforce Turbo had some parts to be washed and cleaned out. This involved the circular pleated filter, the pre-motor filter, the bin, the plastic cyclone assembly, the brushroll, the bottom plate, and washing the hose out from dog mess. Do you really thing all bagless vacuums will need to...

    Bag door Windtunnel Problems

I noticed that my Windtunnel's bag door will not stay shut, no matter how hard I try. I had this machine for a year, and I've noticed that this is now another flaw with the machine. Fantomvacuumfan, vacman117, vacuumfreeke, bagintheback, fantomlightning, and fantomfan, do you know how to fix...

    Bissell's First Upright Vacuums

In 1995, you might know Bissell launched the Plus, an upright vacuum that converts into a canister. 1996, Bissell got the Singer line of uprights, and launched them under the PowerPartner, Powergroom, Microlock, PureAir, and PowerClean names. 1999, Bissell launches the Prolite to compete with...

    Old and New

I'm more aimed towards older vacuums. The newer models are not as nice as you think they would. Vacuumfreeke, I can tell you have older Hoover and Eureka products. I'm in the need to look for an older Bissell, because the newer models, the brand gotten cheaper. I prefer older vacuums-easier...
