    Kirby Forum Website Problem????

Does anyone know / understand what is going on with the Kirby Forum Website. The last two days I have tried to log into it and I get this rediculous "Kirby Game," web page that is obviously a spoof; but there appears no way to actually enter the site. This is the address I have been using...

    New Kirby...???

A while back there was a thread in which several members indicated they thought a new Kirby model was on the horizon and might be out this spring. Has there been and further information on this?

    Filter for older Constellation???

Do they still make the filter for the older Constellation? It's a cloth filter, about 15 inches in diameter that straps over the motor housing inside the bag chamber. I have not been able to find any replacement at any vac supply on line or locally. Has anyone found any of these? If not, what...

    Electrolux on "Mad Men" episode

Last night's all new "Man Men" episode entitled "Flight One," had the character Peggy Olson[Elizabeth Moss] come to work with an Electrolux LX. POD...Model 28 ...Just imagine....!

would cost ....$741.59 in today's dollars; and the Model 50 would cost $678.77 But did you ever wonder what might have happened if Hoover did not give in to the "discount store syndrome," and instead, continued to produce the kind of quality they once built in these vintage machines...

    Hoover Model "0" attachments...?

Is there a set of Model 0 attachments anywhere that someone in the club has access to? When I visited the Hoover Historical Center in 2000 I didn't see attachments displayed with the Model 0 or any of the earliest machines. I never thought to ask then; but I have often wondered if a set still...

    POD Hoover Constellation

This is probably my favorite Constellation. But, this was not an inexpensive vacuum: $97.50 in today's dollars would cost $728.42. Interesting...! Below is the link to Calculate CPI from 1665 to 2012. I think it's fun to put some of the costs of vintage vacuums in and see what they would...

    POD -- Model 29 Hoover...

...just wondering, how long was this model made? I know its delux counterpart was the Model 62 [which was the first vacuum that I remember in our home]. But did its production run all the way through the model 64 Citation? If not, what replaced it? Was there a Model 30 Hoover and 31? My...

    Does this look more like...

...Rainbow attachments to you? In any case, these are definitely not "Kurby" [Kirby] attachments. Where do some of these folks on eBay get their info? http://cgi.ebay.com/Vintage-Kurby-Vacuum-Accessories_W0QQitemZ300087148445QQihZ020QQcategoryZ42146QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

    Sanitaire on Academy Awards...!

If you didn't see the Oscars tonight... there was a little vacuum skit: toward the end of the show, host Ellen DeGeneres was out in the audience on the front row vacuuming with a Sanitaire -- Red Bag, Sliver body and handle. It was a riot!

    Demothing Units

Just looking over the new S & F manual [Thanks Fred] and wondering...why did vacuum manufactures stop including demothing units as standard attachments? For some time it seems that they were always included; but eventually stopped. Was there some research that showed they were simply not...

    Dyson Canister

I was looking on the Dyson web page and I noticed that there is no canister available for the United States now. I thought at one point they began selling their canister over here; but now it appears no longer available. On the accessories page of the web site there are parts available for a...

    "Controlled Suction"

Does anyone know what Hoover meant when they descrived the new and improved aspect of the Aero-dyne as having "controlled suction?" I think the Aero-dyne is a classy looking machine and I have a model 51. But I have always wondered what exactly they meant by this and if there was any particular...

    Filtrete Bags on Kirby

Wow! I have been using the 3M Filtrete Bags on my Kirby Legend with the small rug nozzle and my Kirby G-6. They are fantastic. I don't know how they work, but the airflow is remarkable. They don't seem to loose any suction as the bags fill the resulting scent as you clean seems like just plain...

History of Hoover Attachment Hose for upright

Here's a question for all the Hoover experts: why did the Hoover change the design of the hose ending from the early 1930's when it had the curved design, to the completely straight end which went from the Model 150 through the Model 63 early version? The later version of the 63 all the way...
