KIRBY MODEL 560 for sale - rebuilt

I am selling this Kirby 560 for a friend. It was rebuilt by the factory in 1992. It was still in the box from the factory and was probably never used when it was returned. It powers on and runs. The chrome is very shiny but there are 3 small holes in the bag. It includes the following...

Kirby Handi Butler - correct packaging

Does anybody have a picture of how to properly pack a Kirby Handi Butler inside the box? Specifically Model 519, 560 or 561? I can never figure out how the handi-butler itself should be placed in the box, and the box that goes inside that folds in half. Any pictures on how anyone does it...

    Central Vacuum Motor question

Hi, I have this Central Vacuum Motor - an AMETEK LAMB Model 119708 which I do not know if it is a serviceable motor or not, the bearings are shot. I don't see a way to take it apart to replace bearings. Does anybody know? Does the whole part have to be replaced? Thanks

    Vacuette question

I took apart the gearcase on a vacuette recently, and am trying to figure out how to remove the fan blade. Also, there are 3 what look to be like bearings that fell out when I opened it (see picture), and I can't figure out where they go. Has anyone ever taken apart the gears in a vacuette...

    Dyson help!

A friend of mine recently bought a Dyson (2 weeks ago). I'm not sure of the model, it was working fine until today. He said there is no suction from the brushroll, but there is suction from the hose. He said the brushroll is turning but there is no suction. I'm just going by what he is telling...

Kirby Spray Gun for Spray Painting

I was wondering if anyone has ever used the Kirby (or other brands) of Spray gun for spray painting. How well does it work? I have to paint some louvered doors with latex paint, and figured spray painting would go faster than using a brush.

    Christmas Vac - Already ?

I was in Lowes the other day, and they were putting out Christmas decorations, so I thought I'd bring out my recently restored X-mas vac. My Kirby Dual 'S A N T A' tronic!!!. A Kirby trimmed in red would be more appropriate, but I like the name of this one. Sorry I don't have any before...

KIRBY Handle fork spring for 505-515 Models

Has anybody ever changed a handle fork spring on a Kirby 505-515? I actually have done it twice with the special tools Kirby makes, but it never seems to be tight enough, so the handle doesn't really spring back up like the newer models, it actually will fall down if you let go about halfway...

    Kirby Model C bag question

Pictured below are two sani-emtors, one from a Kirby Model C and the other from a 505. If you notice, the diameter of the throat openings where you attach the bag are different. The Model C is smaller. I was wondering then if the first black bags that were made had smaller openings at the...

    Kirby belt lifter question

In the photo below there are two Kirby belt lifters. The one on the left I believe was used on Models 508 & 509, however I have seen it on later models, even up to the 512, but who knows if they were interchanged between machines. Does any one know when the transition was made between the two...

    Kirby 'Model C' series question

Regarding the Kirby 'C' Models, does anybody know if there was a Model C and a Model 1C? I've seen references to a Model C and a 1C, and I don't know if there is a difference. I've never actually seen a model plate number with a 1C but I have seen just a 'C' on a model plate. I would assume...

    Power Nozzle Question

I wasn't sure where to post this, but here goes: In my house I have a central vac. system with an air driven power nozzle. The suction of the air turns the brushroll, so there is no motor or belt in the housing. I think it works pretty well, it is very light, not to bulky, and easy to...

    Royal Vacuum Help !

I picked up this Royal vac. recently for $10. It's a model 777. Does anybody know when this was manufactured? Also, I'm not sure how the bag gets connected to the chain, something on the bag is missing. Does the bag top have some type of metal clip like the Kirby does? Is this the...

    Kirby questions

Does anybody know when Kirby changed the handle fork tube from smooth to ribbed? I have a 516 that has the smooth tube, and a 519 that is ribbed, so my guess is it is somewhere in between. Also, is the attached picture of the gray cord with red plugs an original? I haven't seen this style of...

Question for all you Hoover experts!

I know Kirby still makes a lot of parts for their old machines, but does Hoover still make old parts? I don't have any Hoovers but I may like to get one from the 1930's at some point, but was wondering if you can still get some of the parts (brushrolls, belts, cords, fans, bumpers, wheels) from...
