wanted: Kirby tradition nozzle (or belt lifter)

I've been searching hard to find a tradition nozzle. If anyone has one they would sell for a reasonable price, please email me! Does not need a brushroll as I will likely get a ball bearing style. I also have a Classic III nozzle so if you have the complete belt lifter, that I would be...

    Kirby Sanitronic VII info request

I may be looking to buy a Sanitronic VII sometime this week or next, they are asking $60 and claim it to be original. I've asked for pics but the person is either lazy or doe not know how. So when I go to look at it, I would like to have a checklist of what to look for regarding originality...

    cleaning VINTAGE bags (Kirby 510)

I have no problems tossing a Heritage or G series bag in the washer and having it come out fresh and clean. But with my Kirby 510, a 62 year old vintage machine, if something happened to the bag well it's damn near impossible to find a replacement! My bag is in good condition, however I do not...

[Royal] Dirt Devil Handy 150 hand vac?

I was thrifting today and came across a Dirt Devil Handy 150. I didn't buy it just yet, because I wanted to see if they are any good of if they are cheap like the newer Dirt Devil 'all plastic' models. this one says Royal on the bag, and has a metal rug plate. The hose attaches to the front...

    Kirby Classic Omega bag patches?

I have Omega that has a non-original bag. It looks boring and I was wondering if there are any Kirby patches that you can sew or iron on? I'm also thinking of getting a full length zipper put on, would I then cut out the inner lining (if it has one)? I hate shakeout bags and it's not original...

old Kirby hose on ebay (looks like 500 series) worth it?

I just bought a 510 which is in really nice shape, but the hose was "dried out" so they threw it away (kept the ends). There is a little bit of cloth left on the one and and it appears that it matches this hose on ebay. Now the question is, would this crack and fall apart if you were to use...

Looking for a Heritage/II/Legend part someone must have kicking around!

My Heritage II was missing the bag and emptor. I bought a emptor and bag, but there is nothing on the top of the bag to hold it to the handle. I looked all over ebay and there is NOTHING! I don't want to order a new one because it will be stupid expensive and I could probably just buy another...

Kirby 509- how much are they worth?

I got an email response from an ad I put locally. "Hello, I have Kirby model #509 that was purchased in 1961 (I have a reciept). It's in working condition but the hose is dry. " "It has attachments.Looks like new. Give me an offer." She ended up deciding on a final $ number (but I want to...

Convert Classic III nozzle to Tradition?

I got a Classic III nozzle yesterday in my thrift finds. It is missing the bumper guard but has the red belt lifter with brush intact. I need a nozzle for my Tradition. Does anyone know 100% if I were to buy a new Tradition belt lifter and bumper guard would they fit perfectly?

Kirby fat nozzle or skinny nozzle, which do you like to USE better?

Perhaps it's just the thin S***ty OLD carpet in my basement which the underpad has compacted into nothing, but I find the fatter nozzle of my Heritage works better than my Heritage II or G series vacs. It keeps it held down while the newer vacs try to suck up the carpet which is very loud when...

What is the most $$ you've spend buying or rebuilding an old vacuum?

I see a people on here get great deals on vintage vacuums, some people asking "how much is (insert model here) worth? and many people with great looking machines, some rare others not so rare in their collections. I'm sure there has got to be a number of us who take some piece of junk if given...

    Heritage 84, HEPA filtered!

I bought this lovely H84 for $25. The original fill tube was cracked and paper bag was FULL, it was a mess behind that zipper! The outer bag is clean and unit is in pretty nice shape for it's age though. I took off the bag and tossed it in the washing machine, washed the emptor, tossed the...

ebay alert! Kirby Omega shampooer LNIB

If you ask me, this is a good price and great collectible. Although I have a Classic Omega I would never use the shampooer and it would just be clutter. If it was the hose and attachments I would have bought it already. lol...

    Kirby Heritage 84- removing emptor?

I took the bag off my H84 and would like to remove and clean the emptor (or is it emtor?) before I attach a new fill tube to it. I tried pulling it towards myself and up like with my Kirby G3/5 but it doesn't want to move. Any tricks?

Should I adapt Kirby G5, Heritage 84 to use newest F-style bag?

So last week I bought a G5 which will be the main cleaning unit of the house. I have handful of cheap bags that came with it, not HEPA or anything fancy that I'm aware of. Yesterday I picked up a Heritage 84. The fill tube has cracks in it and I'd like to use the same bags with the G5 rather...
