Royal 882 - Need quick advice

Ok. Hooked on vintage Royals. Found a cheap 4000, cleaned it up, shined it up, new roller, belts, bags...good to go $60.00 altogether. Not bad. Love it, pull my medium height pile straight up and a pleasure to move around and store. Found a 1992 (MINT) Royal 882 on ebay. With shipping I...

    Not another Royal

Well I found a beautiful 882 on ebay. Its from 1992, green, and with shipping should put me about $140.00. It really is in fantastic condition. Looks like it hasn't been sitting in a closet past 20+ years. I'm thinking about it. Any reasons not to get it? I mean, when does it stop? When is...

    How loud should it be?

Sorry to keep going on about the Royal but I have one more topic to discuss. My Royal is very loud. I have a 1988 Kirby Heritage and the Royal is considerably louder. No strange noises, just very loud. My wife asked I do not vacuum when she is home. Sound right?

    One disgusting Royal

Well I finally got my Royal 4000 apart. I can’t believe the filth I found. I am currently soaking it in orange solvent . I did wipe clean the tag with model serial etc clean accidentally but I know what it is and no intention of ever selling it. It is a small price to pay to get that filth out...

    Chinese Royals?

Found a 1999 Royal 4000 that is my new go to vacuum. My two Modern Kirby’s are getting neglected. I find that I am checking every Peddlers Mall, Flea Market and thrift store for that fantastic find. I don’t like eBay finds only because it’s less of a find and more of a competition to see who...

Can't figure Royal Metal uprights out

Hello all, been "collecting" quality vacuums for about 5 years now. Usually find them at thrift shops, set out at garbage etc. Have found a few gems like a Kirby Heritage II that just needed a new hose for the bag. Have two craigslist finds, a 2002 Kirby G5 and a 2007 Kirby Sentria. Cant...
