I have a trailer in a trailer park that has no hydro.
I am looking for a chargeable vacuum not so much for floors but for cleaning window sills, mattress and crevices. Something with lots of tools.
What is the best brand and that holds the charge the longest?
Anything but a Dyson.
Noticed my parents kitchen floor could use a good scrub. It is lino with a bit of a texture and looks kinda grubby. How do you use a floor polisher on it? Do you mop and then scrub it or do you really have to soak it?
I have a Heritage Kirby that started to smell like burning rubber. I took it to a vacuum store and had it checked and a new belt put on. Same thing. Two minutes into vacuuming it starts to smell like burnt rubber. What is going on? The little green light doesn't light up anymore either. Still...
This Kirby was left in a rental house I was painting and was heading for the garbage.
I brought it home. I have not been paying attention. How old is it?
At least it works but the brush roll is seized and will not turn. The belt is still in one piece.
I picked this vacuum up on the side of the road about a month ago.
I haven't had time to clean it up yet. I really need to get a Mr Clean eraser.
When I took it apart, I was suprised to find a homemade cloth bag inside. Could you run these vacuums with a cloth bag?
I was suprised again to see...
I was out for a walk and found this vacuum at the curb. It has to be an old lady's vacuum. So well cared for. Even with the tape on the hose, it still has great power. Little use on the power head.
This vacuum is dangerously close to going into the garbage.
I saved it from the dumpster in 1999. The lady that tossed it had put on a new plug and it wasn't on right. My room mate fixed it and it has worked ever since.
The problem is the hose, cord and power head. The power head died ages ago...
A friend of mine is thinking of buying the old post office. She wants to turn it into a restaurant.
I got to tour the place with her and it is amazing inside. The clock no longer works.
The current owner tried to turn the place into a fleamarket/dollar store. It didn't work. The place is now...
The local hardware is closing after more than 60 years. No real bargains to be found and a lot of really old junk.
I did find these bags for less than $2.00. Will they fit the new Constellations?
Last week's ice storm knocked out the hydro for 18 hours. With the sump pump not working, the basement flooded. Will these vacuums still work after getting wet?
The bag in the Lux was soaked. When I picked it up, water poured out of the cord winder.
I was painting today at a funeral home and the vacuum of choice was a yellow, commercial Eureka. It did not seem to be very loud, just the familiar sound and hum.
My question is, are commercial vacuums generally louder or quieter than household vacuums?
Here are the four Kirbys that I have. The two Heritages, came from the curb. The G3 I bought at a yard sale for $8.00. The G5 I bought with a Filter Queen for $10.00. I have never liked the looks of the G3 and stashed away the G5 and totally forgot about it. Last night I found it and decided to...
I just saw this picture in the 1975 Christmas catalouge. I never knew uprights had a tool attachment on the front? Was Kenmore/Singer the only uprights that had it?
