    Vacuum of the day---Hoover

    Were women considered subservient back then? Had my dad given my mom a vacuum for Christmas, she'd have put his head in a jar.

    Miele S6 Jasper

    I found it on craigs list at a pawn shop. $50. It runs well, is in nice shape. The electrobrush isn't working is all. It's the newer SEB 225? larger type with no light. The hose and wand has conductivity. Can I use a Wesselwerk (Cana-Vac) power head if I don't get it working?

    Country Guy Gary's Eureka spotted

    on the Buzzr TV game show channel! Yes, on Card Sharks from 1978 through 1980. Eureka was a sponsor, and his Golden Empress II with roto-matic power head is featured as an ESP (extra suction power) premier model.

    It smells of dust and dirt. I'm ashamed to be your daughter! Never should I have to clean house. Especially this house. It's so common. Like you mother. The daughter of a scrub woman, who lived above a market and took in washing to make ends meet.

    Not a Canadian, or a UK built, but a Swedish made European machine. Does anyone in Europe own one?

    Hoover Swingette/ Porta power;

    What a neighbor of mine growing up got after her 1976 Kirby was repossessed. No lie!

    wanted;

    an old style Eureka straight suction rug nozzle. The type before the attached plastic neck that connected to the chrome bottom elbow wand. It can be green, blue, beige, or ivory. I can paint it. I found a blue crevice tool and painted it ivory. It looks great. I used Rustoleum primer/paint...

    Picture of the day;

    I can tell the power nozzle is an American Hoover, but the canister or cylinder cleaner looks British. The chair looks American. I do not remember these in stores. I seem to recall the Dimension 1000 immediately replacing the Celebrity III, or IV QS series.

    Miele S5 Blue Moon

    Yes, but in the scale of 1 to 87. I have a hand made model I fashioned from spare plastic building kit parts inside of the Mercedes car show room on my ho 1/87 scale model railroad lay out. I tried taking a picture, but my camera will not macro focus close enough in. I used left over part...

    Milliput

    This is an excellent two part epoxy putty that does not shrink. Imported from England, it sells for $8 US at hobby and some craft stores. Michaels does not carry it, Hobby Lobby does. Same price there for white. The super white variety is $13 on Amazon. It also comes in yellow, black, orange...

    To: Durango159, Rob.

    Hi Rob, as I am older, I will eventually sell off my collection. It's inevitable, as well with the trains, the Austrian & Swedish crystal, Spode, and Bavarian porcelain china. Unless my step kids want it. Not the vacuums of course, and when they host holidays we always eat off of paper plates...

    Reply button, or field area

    Gary, I will acclimate to all of your correct names in time. Also, as only a basic member, I do not see a reply button or field area at the bottom of any post. Perhaps the webmaster can amend? I realize some revenue is necessary to operate the site also. I have more important exspenses...

    Thank's for the welcome, and a repair frustration

    Thanks also to Charlie Kirby, and Bill W. (Tazcatsdad) for the welocome. Wow Gary, you live way up near North Bay! I've been to Montreal, and my folks took us camping in Peterborough when we were kids. Bill W, I've seen several of your youtube videos. All those nice machines keep you...

    Steel Eureka canisters, etc.

    Greetings Gary, and Countryguy. Gary, an Aerus Gaurdian is a very quality machine, and streamlined. Countryguy, I saw an orange Eureka rectangle powerteam in pieces in the recycle center metal dumpster. A shame. It did not look rusty. I could not get low enough inside to retrieve it. It had...

    I'm new here.

    Hello all of you! I've been browsing this site for a few years, but never had the gumption to join until last week. I enjoy looking at your collections. They are great! I found a really nice 1980 Eureka model 1290A brandywine canned ham powerteam canister at the salvation army store. It...
