    Dyson Made in Philippines?

Hello all, I'm back after some time. I came across an odd Dyson V6 box today with the words Made in Philippines. I had to double take! I knew Dyson contracted manufacturing to Malaysia, when did they start with the Philippines?

    Thinking about an Oreck

Hi all. Thinking of biting the bullet to go for an oreck. I honestly never thought I would touch one because of an advert that scared me silly when I was a child. I've always wondered about trying one, and I'm thinking of an XL7, the black and cream one. Any thoughts and pointers, is there...

Good and bad news last year

Hello vacuumlanders, it's been a while since I was last on here, I've been quiet due to a difficult time. As the title suggests, last year I managed to get a new job at John Lewis, for the non Brits, this is a middle class department store in England. I am enjoying it very well, and I get to...

    New copycat Dyson cordless

Hello all, it's that time again, the new Argos catalogue is out. As usual I had a nosey at the appliances, nothing really jumped out, apart from these. Vax and Hoover both have new cordless vacs. Very Dyson esq, I doubt they're multi cyclonic and that they're any good.

Some people should NOT be allowed to buy things

Hi all, title says it all. No point, just wanted a rant. Had a customer today arguing with me about their Dyson. It's an old DC07 Origin. They said it was smelling of burning and not picking up. My mind instantly went to the filter. Took it out, and the thing was covered in dust. They said...

    Very very unusual Hoover

Hi all, not sure what to make of Hoover, they seem to be coming out with some new and unusual contraptions. Just taken delivery of this at work, the Hoover Synthesis. It's a cylinder with PACT, there's an auger and a expanding bin which compacts the dust. The silver handle on the bin is a...

    Unusual Hoover

Hi all, just seen this at work, a Hoover Velocity. Quadruple A rated. Rather new features for a Hoover, first time I've ever seen brushbar control. Looks rather Vax esque, there must be a link somewhere. Anyone know anything about it...

Hands on with Vax Cordless Lift

So, I was bringing a cleaner down from the warehouse for a customer, and noticed I had a couple of new vacuums waiting for me, one being the Vax Cordless Lift. Doesn't surprise me, vax have already been in to put pos in place so the actual machine was imminent. I'm not a vax lover, I'm more...

    New year, new displays

Hey all, you may remember a year ago I posted a thread with images of our displays. It's been a funny kind of year, with the European regulations going on, so I wanted to share to you all, how our new displays look. If you want you can read the previous one in this link...

    My latest acquisition!

A fortnight ago we had a macmillan coffee morning at work, with a raffle to win a DC50 Animal donated by Dyson. I thought why not, after all its a worthy charity and it is a Dyson! So with luck would have it, I won it! Lovely colour. Very rinky dinky, looks toy like, but that is where it ends.

    Some new vacuums

So it was my first day back since Saturday and I had quite a jobs list. Vacuums galore were stacked waiting for me, they always leave them to me to display. So I spent the best part of today unboxing some new machines. Some new Hoovers, we won't go into detail, let's face it it's Hoover...

    Being doing some complaining!

So as we all know about the poop storm created by the media about the new EU regs, I thought enough was enough, so I've done some complaining. I have complained to the head of the Daily Mail, Rachel Straus and Simon Lambert of ThisIsMoney, also to the head of Which (who could have set the story...

    New Samsung Trio

Interesting idea from Samsung, a new eco vac based on the previous Motionsync/cycloneforce. Its called the Trio, allows dry vacuum, dry vacuum with water filter, it can pick up liquid and it can even wash carpets! Lord knows how much this will be. Would be interesting to see how well it works...

    Bosch Power Silence 2

Had a quiet spell at work today, so thought it was the best time to have a play with a new Bosch. I've had a play with the Athlet, but not the new Power Silence. I've always been skeptical so I was very dubious, even a colleague was, who hates Bosch. There is one word I would use to describe...

    Shark
