Let's see your favorite Electrolux cleaners

I thought it would be fun for us to share a photo of our favorite Electrolux cleaners from our collection. I am partial to the model G, the bronze colored version from 1966 through 1968. Here is my model G automatic that was rescued from an upper closet at an estate sale. Only one disposable bag...

The genius Sears vacs from Birtman Electric

Many people have a favorite Sears Kenmore vacuum in their collection. In getting my collection ready for sale, as we are closing the museum, I have been re-introduced to the genius that was coming out of Chicago in the 30s, 40s, and 50s. Here is a Kenmore "top of the line" upright from 1953...

The brand new Delphin from Germany

Brushless motor. About 80 inches of lift. Wonderful power nozzle. Unique emptying. Greg Palmer stopped by on his way to the V.C.C.C. convention. We laughed, ate, and shared many vacuums. This is the brand new (literally) Delphin vacuum from Germany.

    Better Together

Growing up, I knew virtually no one who had an upright vacuum cleaner. The world of the 60s was populated by canister and tank type machines. At least it was in the middle of America. My mother even went so far as to call upright vacuum cleaners “worthless“. During my many decades of...

The amazing Kirby 519 with HEPA bags

I was recently given this Kirby 519. We converted it to use HEPA disposable bags. I know the belt lifter is incorrect, but that's OK.

    Old Kirbys and things

Someone gave me this Kirby 519. I don't know where it originally came from. Wrong belt lifter. I love it. We rebuilt it and it runs smooth and nice on its new bearings.

    Old Things

One of my good friend Robert's favorite colors is red. Blood red. Kirby red. He rebuilt a Kirby 518 to make it a modern machine. I keep mine natural (like my hair).

    Sunday dinner with collectors

After a small mini meet, we decided to have Sunday dinner together. The first thing we had to do was make the dessert. We decided that an apple sauce cake would be perfect to coincide with the time change. The challenge was to use the least amount of sugar while producing a perfect result. The...

Hans Craig came to visit bearing gifts.

29 years ago I met my very good friend Hans. In the days of the old VCCC, he came to a convention when I was president of the Club. We have been good friends ever since. Hans came for a visit this past weekend. Everybody came to see him. We had a barbecue, and he made his famous biscuits. He...
