    An AMAAAAAZING Oreck Find!!!

Here's a phrase that I could never have imagined myself saying (with apologies to Oreck devotées): “I’ve found an ORECK and I’m THRILLED with it!” But there it is. I've said it. And mean it! Let me explain....... There's a thrift shop called "Children's Charities" across the street from the...

    Another eBay Disaster

I have more bad eBay news. Just before I left for Sydney, I won a really nice Model 700 Hoover that had the original bag. (See link) Luckily, I was the only bidder and got it for $20 and another $22 for shipping. I was VERY happy to have found this, since the 700 was Stan Kann's favorite...

An unusual find for UK collectors!

Here's something that I imagine doesn't turn up very often in the UK: An American Electrolux Model E from 1954. It was a landmark model in that it was the first with wheels rather than sleds, and was marketed as the "light-weight, heavy-duty" cleaner. (See www.137.com/luxe) The box it comes in...

"What's wrong with this picture, er, listing...?"

Gee, if I had known that these early Hoover attachment sets were so valuable, I - long ago - would have listed the half-dozen or so sets of them that I have! http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=280274126517&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT&ih=018

VERY cool 1960s Shetland floor polisher on eBay

This is a real beauty, and I'd snap it up in a second except that I just don't have room for it. There's a very low buy-it-now; I hope someone will pick it up and give it a new home...

    Electrolux LX Brochure on eBay

There is currently a Model LX Electrolux brochure on eBay that ends in six hours and has not received any bids. For those who may not have seen this brochure, it's gorgeous! Every page contains hand-rendered, full-color illustrations, and the first page has a full-color "beauty shot" photo of...

    Priceless vintage Electrolux...

Talk about "dime a dozen" vacuums

(as someone described Kirby Classics in another thread). This certainly is no rarity, not in original condition at all, looks like a bojack "dump in a vat of blue paint" job and with mismatched attachments -- for $89.00. Hmmm... And the seller does not even identify the correct model...

    Modern Hygiene

Congrats Æolian-Dave on a lovely find, although at quite a premium price! On the other hand, you did get that gorgeous Westinghouse for a song, so I guess it all evens out eventually. The Modern Hygiene is top among my favorite tank machines. http://137.com/modern/

    Another bit of Sweeper Serendipity!

I occasionally get emails from people who have found my web site and write along the lines of, "Hello, we found an old vacuum when cleaning out dearly-departed Aunt Agatha's house. We'll be happy to send it to you if you want it..." Indeed, just a month or so ago, a nice lady [from St. Louis...

    Kirby 508 Restoration Complete

You may recall that a month or so ago, I posted photos of a Kirby 508 (vintage 1948) that I had taken apart with the intention of restoring it <br Well, that work has been done. See link <br (btw I posted this message once but it disappeared. Maybe the Vacuumland central vac system swooped it...

Nice Electrolux Polisher in Box about to disappear from eBay

Very nice shape, no bidders. I'd get it just to keep it from being thrown out but I reeeeeally don't need any more of them at this point....... http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=310075112244&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT&ih=021
