    Wanted - Electrolux XXX attachments

While I was at the Vacuum Museum in St. James, I bought a very nice Electrolux XXX with no hose and no attachments. I found soneone at the Convention selling a few of them, but I'm still missing an original hose, a tool caddy, (the one I have is broken), a crevice tool, and a good dusting brush...

Royal 4000 Classic Edition from Goodwill

I got this Royal today at the Goodwill for $10. It came with 2 brand new belts and I just happen to find a Royal type B bag. Somebody used it without a bag and the outer bag was filled up with crap. I vacuumed it out asbestos I could. I know this model was made 1995-2004, but if somebody could...

    Simplicity 6 Series from Goodwill!

I got this at Goodwill today for only $8, and all it needed was a good clean up! It works perfectly and is very quiet for a 12 amp. I will definitely be taking it to St. Louis. Maybe stop in at Tacony for a few new parts! This is my first Simplicity, and I am quite pleased with it. One of my...

    My new Hoover 28

I got this at a thrift today for $6.99, cleaned it up, and it works like a charm. My heart skipped a beat when I spotted it, this thrift store usually doesn't have very good vacuum stuff, but they have been getting more. For all of you in the VCCC, you will probably be seeing this in St. Louis...

Show us your commercial/heavy duty vacuums!

From left to right on the front row - My 1999 Sanitaire from The World's Longest Yardsale, my 1990's SSS rebadged Eureka from the dumpster, and my Eureka Heavy Duty that I got at a thrift store years ago. The Sanitaire will be going to the VCCC convention in St. Louis this year for the...

Any news on the 2015 VCCC Convention?

I'm chomping at the bit to get every sliver of information I can about the 2015 St. Louis Convention. One question I have. I am aware of two Crowne Plaza hotels in St. Louis, one in Bridgeton, and one in Clayton. Which one will we be staying at?

Kirby Tradition found at Goodwill today

After years of searching, I FINALLY found decent Tradition! I had one 4 years ago, but it had some problems, so I parted it out and I don't regret it. I put that good armature in my Omega that I restored. This Tradition runs strong and it's very quiet - no bearing noise. As found, it had a...

AT LONG LAST, THE SANITAIRE'S BACK HOME!

Me and the jerk running the vac shop went round and round. I called him right after I got out of skool, and he said he had ordered the plastic hood and that I could pick it and the Sanitaire at the same time. I wanted the Sanitaire NOW. We made the trip across town, and after some arguing, I got...

    Which brushroll to get?

I recently acquired a Sanitaire SC-684 from the World's Longest Yardsale for $5.00. The brushroll it came with is genuine Eureka VGII, but it vibrates really bad and feels like it's seizing up. Should I spend lots of money and get the genuine VGII, or save ten dollars and get a four row all...

I scored at the World's Longest Yardsale today!

I got a Kirby G3 for $11.00, a Sanitaire for $5.00, and a Royal for $8.00. All of which need a bit of sprucing up. They will probably get the spa treatment next week. Both the G3 and the Royal have bad handle springs.

    Kirby G5 Tech Drive issues

A while back, I traded with my aunt an Ultimate G DE for her G5. Since I already had a much better Ultimate G DE and no G5, it was a good trade. The G5 has only one problem-the Tech Drive is shot to crap. It can hardly move under its own power, and with the drive engaged, it is almost no...

Photos from the Kirby Kraze convention

We all had such a good time. I met so many new people, and will definitely be going next year to St. Louis. I probably should have taken more pictures, but I was too busy having fun. The second picture shows where we stopped for the night in Millersburg, OH. Show us the pictures you took from...

    Kirby Heritage with a surprise!

I got the bright idea to take a metal fan out of a junked 519 and put it in my Heritage. The results were amazing! The new fan added another dimension of awesome deep airflow to the machine.

Getting the Kirbys ready for the Convention!

I spent about 5 hours taking apart, cleaning, and polishing my Sentria and Diamond. Later on this week, I'll do my G4, Heritage, Omega, 514, and 511.

I found a gem at the Flea Mall!

Yesterday, I went to my favorite flea mall, and I found this lovely Rainbow D4. It works, but it doesn't sound too good. And I have no experience working on Rainbows. The dolley and top plastic pieces are broken. If someone could point me in the right direction, that would be great.
