Updated video on my vacuum collection

Due to being so busy, I haven’t had time to make many YouTube videos but I thought I’d make at least one more before I go back to school. Excuse my tiredness while making this video, this was at about 1:30 in the morning.

New Old Stock Eureka Whirlwind Power System from 1998

I am fortunate to own this very unusual machine. At first glance, it seems like a decent vacuum. Enjoy!

If you want to hear what a brand new Fantom sounds like, check out the video! It still has that “new” smell and its black plastic is still super shiny!

    Weird Hoover Spirit Bagless Upright

I saw this listed on Craigslist in the neighborhood behind mine and I couldn’t resist. I was aware of the bagged models, but not the bagless ones. It’s a model U5019-900. There is next to no information on this model online. Any thoughts? It’s quite unusual.

New to me Fantom Crosswind 600 XL

I am fortunate enough to have found a very nice example of a Fantom Crosswind 600XL on ebay! It is in close to mint condition! There aren't many of these around today because they didn't sell for long before Fantom went under. I am also fortunate enough to have a dark blue Fantom Wildcat in...

    New Vacuum: Riccar Vibrance

I haven't been buying vacuums much lately because 1: I'm trying to save money for college and 2: The vacuums I keep finding at the curb are keeping me busy. However, I saw a bunch on vacuums listed in one ad on Craigslist, and I saw this Riccar far off to the left. I tried to resist, but I...

New Find: 2008 Rainbow E2 Blue for $60

I've been going to a certain community garage sale for the past four years, and I don't always find stuff. This year, I lucked out. I found this Rainbow E2 for $60. They originally wanted $125 and marked it down to $75 right before I went there. I offered $60 and they accepted. It has the...

    My Christmas Presents to myself!!

I've longed for a new Rainbow for a couple of years now but I could never justify the price. Recently, I had contact with a fellow collector who had an interest in a few Filter Queens of mine. We had a few discussions and he asked if I had an interest in a Rainbow E2 Black. I said I was, but...

Latest finds: some very rare ones!

I have not posted about new machines in a while. Up until last Saturday, I only had two additions to my collection in two and a half months. In early July, I purchased a Rexair model B at an estate sale for about $40. I don't think it was worth $40 but I bought it anyway. It is missing the hose...

    Recent finds

It's been a while since I've made a post, so I've gotten many new machines since then! To start: -Non PN Rainbow D2- cost me $50, pretty much complete except for the sprayer. It's in fairly good condition with some surface rust on the dolly. It runs with the usual bearing noise. The hose is...

    Royalaire motor issues

Hello all, I recently purchased a lot of four vintage vacuum cleaners, one of which is a Royalaire tank. The motor sounds shot, but I'm not sure if it's just the carbon brushes. It's sparking a bit. Do they still sell carbon brushes for these? Would a different motor fit inside it?

New finds from last two months!

To start: Two new Kirbys- 513 and 561. (515 in middle I already had, but it got re-vamped with original Kirby parts.) They came from a guy in the city whom I bought two dozen Kirbys from. These two I'm keeping, the others are sold, or waiting to be sold/donated. They work well. Air-Way 88-...

    Kirby Sentria II warranty transferrable?

I am selling a Kirby Sentria II for a friend. It is 1 1/2 years old. My question is, could the 1 1/2 years or so left on the warranty transfer if I have the original paperwork?

    Two new finds!

About three weeks ago, a woman emailed me in response to my wanted ad that I had on Craigslist looking for vintage vacuum cleaners. She sent me pictures of two very old General Electrics that were found in an attic of a deceased relative. She told me they both ran but wasn't sure how well they...

Rainbow E2 Separator Stuck to fan housing

I just bought a Rainbow E2 and had trouble getting the separator off. I finally got it off with the prying end of the hammer. I bought a new separator and put it on but now it's just doing the same thing the old separator was doing. But now I can't even get it off the way I was able to with the...

    More Collection Updates

I've been busy buying/selling vacuum cleaners over the past couple of months but finally got around to sharing what I've gotten in the past 1 1/2 months. I recently met a vacuum collector in my area that to my surprise, has a TON of vintage machines. Not only that, but he has several RARE...

    Rainbow E Series Separator Stuck

I just bought an E-Series Rainbow off of Craigslist. It works perfectly and is in good condition, but the separator will NOT come off. I already took the nut off. I tried motor oil with no luck. I might try WD-40. I don't want to damage any components that are connected to the spindle. It needs...

    Hoover Model 750

Just got this last Friday.... The guy was clearing out a relative's house and found this in the attic. He sent me pictures and I immediately wanted to get it. It's a two speed Hoover 750 with the headlight (but no bulb.) The motor still runs beautifully. I need to figure out how to take out the...

    Updated Collection Photos

It's been almost a year since I took the last photo. They are all together now in the basement after a ton of work to get them down there. I have about seventy machines now, down from 130 at the collection's peak. I'm mainly into high end/vintage canisters now.
