My latest eBay purchase is finally here!!!

Austin No thanks needed! I enjoy our friendship tremendously, and helping you make your 29 a daily driver is the least I can do! I know the cord/switch debacle was maddening! Let me know when you're ready to change the handle control bolt and I'll walk you through it. Much easier than it...

    Hoover folks, a question?

The later run Convertibles also utilized the front conversion. Many clicked into high speed when the handle was in the storage position. If memory serves me, front conversion came about somewhere in the mid/late '70s.

Buyer beware! Hoover model 62 on eBay

this guy needs to count his losses If he paid $140 for this cleaner, then destroyed it, he ought to take whatever he can get for it as a parts donor. $80 (even $50) is entirely too much. Perhaps this bothers me SO much as I spent a large amount of time corresponding with this gentleman trying...

    1956 Sunbeam Dual Deluxe

Kenkart Excellent point. I was surprised to see that rating as well! Many say it was "over engineered", but I personally feel that it set the stage for cleaners in the future. Way ahead of its time for 1936! Tom- congrats. There is something so awesome about FACT based history. [this post was...

    1956 Sunbeam Dual Deluxe

Buyer beware! Hoover model 62 on eBay

Be aware that this cleaner is in deplorable shape. I tried to assist the seller in what I thought was a restoration for his personal collection, only to find he was trying to sell this cleaner in non-working condition. The motor is non operational due to spraying wd40 into the commutator, the...

    1956 Sunbeam Dual Deluxe

So out of ALL the years Consumer Reports has been publishing ratings of appliances, it just so happens they finally got it right... just once...in 1959/60 with this one and only cleaner? Wow... You've also said some manufacturers paid for favorable ratings (airway and Hoover would not), does...

    1956 Sunbeam Dual Deluxe

So you're saying this is the only issue of the magazine to get it correct?
  17. hooverboy81

    1956 Sunbeam Dual Deluxe

Since when... Since when did you put any stock into what Consumer Reports says about a cleaner? You've called them "communist reports" on many, many occasions. Not bashing, just interested to know why this rating wasn't deemed "communist ".

Hoover 63 production start up question

I figured it was around that time. My mother was born in August of 1953 and my late grandmother purchased three 63s before her birth. And absolutely! I'll email them to you tonight!
