'Say Goodbye To Big Corded Vacuums'

@ Harley.. Yes, that what I heard him say as well. As far as how all future vacuums will be cordless...  It may never happen, as smaller companies won't have the resources to mass produce cordless machines and sell them at a reasonable cost.   Large companies like TTI or Midea or Dyson or...

Here's how I pack vintage vacuum cleaners for shipping...

I may have entered somthing incorrectly... I went onto the UPS website and used their calculating page.  I entered the dimensions of the box and it's weight and the to and from address.  I think it went over normal parameters of size.. it was about a square meter including padding, which may...

    Bag/bagless observations

After recently getting two vintage bagged machines (both Electrolux and Aerus), that I love and am obsessed with a bit, I actually thought about why I've preferred bagless machines for the past twenty or thirty years.   I realized that while storing/displaying my two bagged tanks upright on...

Are there still retail stores that let you try out vacuums?

Miele stores Walked in today to finally take a look at the Blizzard.   They had a whole set up displaying three variants of that model on top of a really cool looking 10'x10' dark red shag carpet.  The saleslady encouraged me to dive in, but I didn't have time to play.  I'll probably get...

    Facebook post

Did just that today! I was using my Aerus Lux Legacy to clean my Hoover Z.    Used the horsehair dust brush from the Legacy as well as a crevice tool!   Sometimes on clear plastic parts of my unused displayed vacuums, I just use a microfiber towel.

Searching For a New Vacuum for my Mother

Oops, had to redo my post. ☺ Bed bath and beyond always takes returns even if you buy online and return in store, and they have a big selection online.   So, maybe try one that you think would be good, cross reference reviews on other websites like Amazon, and if she doesn't like it then...

Searching For a New Vacuum for my Mother

My Mom loved this one.. It doesn't have a hose or attachments.   They still carry it on Amazon.  I'd get a second battery for longer sessions.   Well balanced and stands upright on its own.     ...

Y'all like my antique Electrolux fan?!

So cool!  (Pardon the pun!)   Enjoy!   Charles, I was able to access your wonderful chronology of Electrolux just a few days ago for the first time on your link at the bottom of your profile (<a target="_blank">http://www.1377731.com/lux</a> ), and I just went to read it again.. yes...

Here's how I pack vintage vacuum cleaners for shipping...

Beautiful job! What service do you use for good shopping costs? I have a 35 pound Hoover that I wanted to ship, and even UPS estimates shipping at over $300 coast to coast.

A Hose by any other name...

After getting bitten by the Electrolux bug and suffering a slight fever, I am back in action!   I bought an HPR (after much discussion, it's probably a Super J) on eBay a few months ago, and it quickly became my favorite to use almost daily.  It came with the original braided hose which was...

Free Vacuums - To Anyone Who Wants Them

OMG, I'm over the moon! You have no idea the obsessive journey I've been on to find a beautiful one recently...the one I remember as a young man that cemented in my head what the difference was in a quality machine, and how much better vacuuming felt, and the beautiful rich sound of a solid...

    My first Aerus!

David, these Clean Obsessed bags claim 5 layers (same as ply, I guess) and are a clothlike material and not paper. They alone filter the air beautifully on the Super J, but in addition to the electrostatic exhaust filter on the Legacy make me a very happy camper!   Chris, thanks for the...

    My first Aerus!

I'm investing a little. Phillip, Jason and Barry, you guys are awesome. I know that you all know how it feels... and that's means a lot to me!   I called Aerus corporate in Virginia today and talked with a nice lady who had a wonderful southern twang! Told her about my two vintage vacs...
