What vacuum does this attachment belong to ?

I don't understand the comment that no Aer-Rotors were sold. If that's the case, then why did Kirby produce sales materials for that vacuum cleaner?

    vintage as daily

I do have one Compact. I've had several different ones come and go over the years but this one is my favorite.

    vintage as daily

Absolutely! I use my vintage machines on a regular basis mainly because I don't have any modern ones! Well, I have one, an Electrolux Marquise that's a great performer but too noisy for me. Give me the gentle purr of a Model XXX or G any day! Old machines need to be used. If they sit around...

    A Funny Kirby Recollection

@centralvacs1928 I don't know. This happened in 1962 or '63. So it was most likely a Model G. Mama had an E-Automatic. I remember that the Electrolux Man had a big station wagon chock-full of various models -- AF, S, R, G and maybe others, and lots of parts and hoses. He came by one day and...

    A Funny Kirby Recollection

An old memory rose to the surface this morning. When I was a little boy my father was a minister. We were often invited to people’s homes for social visits or supper. I would inevitably sneak off to find their vacuum cleaner. One time when we were visiting, I found an old Kirby in a spare...

    A Constellation Celebration!

There's a beautiful Model 853 Constellation on eBay right now. It's hard not to be tempted, other than the $300 buy-it-now price...

All the Way to Santa Fe, the 2023 VCCC Convention

My apologies to Don O'Connor. "Reports of his death were greatly exaggerated."

All the Way to Santa Fe, the 2023 VCCC Convention

EARLY VCCC HISTORY John Lucia and Bob (Alex) Taber started corresponding with one another in 1981. They met in person in 1982 when, together, they made a pilgrimage to the Hoover Historical Center and factory. That was the first time they ever saw "The Vault" where Hoover kept the competitors'...

    A Constellation Celebration!

Back in 2016 Arlee found a Model 444 Hoover Constellation at Goodwill for $7.99! It has sat in a corner of our hallway on display pretty much ever since then, rarely taken out to use. I do most of the vacuuming and prefer to use one of my Electroluxes. The other day he decided to use it. We...

    A Deal or a Steal?

There were three versions of the hospital G: cream with turquoise trim with the power nozzle connection in the front cover; cream with turquoise trim with the power nozzle connection on the side; cream with dark tan trim.

    A Deal or a Steal?

I told Keith about the term "twingle." This was concocted by, IIRC, Clay Floyd, to describe that peculiar feeling when, for example, you walk into a thrift store and get hit with the blazing certainty that there's SOMETHING amazing in there!

    A *DEAL* for sure!!

New and improved Air Way Dust indicator

Nice work!! A few years ago I found an Air-Way at Goodwill with a cracked indicator. Here's what I came up with. Not original, but I think it looks pretty good. The original cord was a bit ratty but I didn't change it. It wouldn't ever be a daily driver, just a machine to admire for its...

    Electrolux Model L Goodwill Find!

Beautification Begins... I completed "Phase 1" of the Model L beautification. I gave it a good going-over with metal polish, filled in the "Electrolux" logos on the sides, and added a set of original attachments. I'm debating whether or not to paint it or touch up the dings. I may just leave...

Stunning Early 1930's Health Mor Sanitation System Vacuum

Not all that long ago you were in a hot rash about parts for the Kirby 2C. What happened? Did you find those parts??

    Electrolux Model L Goodwill Find!

Yes, this was the first version of the Model L, and yes, it was the lower-tier companion to the Model G starting in 1962 after the Model R was retired. The hose has the color scheme of the Grand Marquise but is non-electric.

    Electrolux Model L Goodwill Find!

Arlee and I went to Goodwill today, a weekly routine on Tuesdays. For the first time in I don't know how many years, I found an Electrolux there! It's a Model L, the first version of the first model in off-white paint. Notice it still has the toggle switch with the black rubber tip instead of...

    Duntley vacuum

The Santo is a twin to the Lux Model I other than the difference in the logo. There must be a connection here with Electrolux.

    Dual Sanitronic 50

Here's my D50. It was given to me by a friend who found it in his mother's closet when she passed away and he cleared out her house. As you can see, it is in immaculate condition. The only part that shows any usage wear is the rug nozzle.
