Hello Frank, Chad, Reggie and All,
I have a Singer Model H-4 and the Royal Junior Model 81 hand held vacuums and now this little MW/Apex which seems to have more suction power than the others. It also is well made but in that era most things were well made. The split casting is interesting and I...
Hello All,
Well I could not pass this little Montgomery Ward hand held vacuum up. I don't think I have seen one like it before. It runs great and really has a lot of power. The bag is in good shape. I think it is older than the Montgomery Ward/Eureka upright I got a week ago. I don't have a clue...
Hello Huskyvacs and All,
I have 2 of the small screw one is really good and the other is not as good.
Don't let the screw that you have on the locking side bottom out in the groove as that can make it drag. The screw points need to be in the groove so the bail/yoke/fork
will not come off but...
Hello Huskyvacs an All,
Your description worked for me and I really don't know what it is properly called.
I know I have 2 or more extras packed away that I don't need. I will look in the morning and let you know.
Thank you for looking,
Pete
Hello Huskyvacs and All,
I just want to make sure we are talking about the same small screw on the Hoover 700 yoke/fork so here are two pictures. Please let me know. I should have some extra one.
Thank you for looking,
Pete
Hello All and Huskyvacs,
That is interesting, 1945.
I found this thread from 2006, Thread No. 17 "Your Rarest Vacuum Cleaner" and the Reply No. 31; Post #234207 of 05-27-2013 by 1926700 is a picture of a Eureka and indicates that it is a 1946 Eureka. That Eureka look a lot like the one in the...
Pictures of Model Tag and Logo on Hood
Hello All and Eureka Fans,
You got it, the Model Tag and Hood Logo. I had them but did include the pictures in my original Post for some reason.
I have been trying to find out more information on this vacuum and on YouTube I found a video from 2011 on a...
Hello All,
I have received a Montgomery Ward Model 74SP437A Vacuum. I know they were manufactured by Eureka but I have never seen one like this MW. To release the handle, you push down and to lower it all the way down you must push downward on the machine again. Putting the handle up from the...
Hello All,
Regarding the Tan G I see that some had brown wheels and some had white wheels. Was there any particular reason for the white or brown wheels or for that matter even the Tan G? When I worked at the shop I only remember repairing and painting the Aqua G and I have no memory of ever...
Hello All,
I have Tan G that has had the PN connector removed from the bottom and installed on top. I don't know why a shop would do it but they did. I have the Aqua G with the PN Connector below the bag fill adjuster on the front. I do not recall seeing a Tan G with the connector below the bag...
Hello All,
Does anyone have a picture or own a Montgomery Ward "Which Way" vacuum. I have heard of it but I have never seen one. Apex made a lot of vacuums back then.
Thank you for looking,
Pete

Hello All,
I bought a book that I was told about a number of years back. I had a customer that was a Steadicam Operator and he would kid me about all my old cars and thought I should read the book “Who Moved My Cheese?”. I have yet to read the book while I drive some of those old cars but I do...
Hello All,
Sorry all I forgot to add the pictures. I did order a new brain on eBay but I have not received it yet and boy the shipping charge was horrendous.
Thank you,
Pete
Hello All,
I have rebuilt and or restored to near new between 30 and 50 of the Electrolux G. The G is one machine I really fond of. I once disassembled 7 at once just for the fun of it and proceeded to buff, paint and repair all parts as needed for the sales floor. I would even use bondo on the...
Hello,
Yes I understand, and to be honest I do not remember how the hood is removed LOL. If it were the Classic Convertible of the 60's & 70's I could tell you in a flash. I know I removed that style of hood many times at the shop. I believe it has 2 phillips/cross screws on the bottom that need...
Hello,
You might check the carbon brushes as they can cause loss of power and sputtering. Remove them to check their condition and that they are not stuck in place.
Good luck,
Pete
