Next to each other. The S148 with a 228 pn is on the left. On the right is the S168 on a new 236 pn. In vaccum-only mode, the 148 is 5.2 amps, whereas the 168 is 8.0. If I had a waterlift gauge, I'd compare them.

Power nozzles and universal uprights The S147, which is the black model pictured above, was packaged with the SEB217 power nozzle. The S148 was wired for a direct connect pn but didn't come with one. The pistachio green entry S143 would not accept a pn at all. Those three are discontinued, and...

    Two new additions

S147 The 147 is a great machine! I had one. It was my first Miele Universal Upright, but I gave it away to a friend when he was getting his first apartment. I wish I hadn't given him the hose set, too. I want one and can't find one now.

    Two new additions

My dad was given a Hoover Bagless upright for me by a friend. It hadn't been used too much or it was cared for very well. I cleaned it up and bought a new filter, brushroll, and belt from Evan. While I was there, I couldn't resist this NOS Miele S148 TOL HEPA, variable-speed universal upright...

    black and decker collector

Video I slogged my way through that long video to the Collector commercial. That's the same vacuum I remember my great uncle having. I'd say that they show it functioning as it truly did. A Dustbuster never would clean like that, even brand new. The Collector was AC-dependent, not...

    black and decker collector

Collector My great uncle had one. They were quite a bit larger than a Dustbuster and were corded and pretty powerful for a hand vac. They were really loud. I don't remember if I ever opened his, but I think they used the same kind of pre-filter that the dustbuster used - I don't think it...

    A Really Great Gift

cool I have a couple Orecks that I got from Rick, and I like both of them. One is a breast cancer version of your black model whose color is called Asquith Pink because Rick liked that bright pink color so much it's all he ever wanted to see. The other is a silver-colored XL21, which I think...

    Electrolux straight suction rug tools..1930-1955

I think I understand These were double-sided rug tools. Not a rug tool on the small side and a floor tool on the large side. I suppose I could have noticed the lack of bristles... Thanks!

    Electrolux upright

Does anyone here have really good or mind/NOS parts for the 70s/early 80s Electrolux uprights? I have one that John gave me, and I really want to start using it regularly. I need the inner part of the bag lid that has two gaskets. Both gaskets on mine have brittled and lost pieces that have...

    Electrolux straight suction rug tools..1930-1955

The "rug" side I've wondered every time I've seen one of those tools how one was supposed to use it. The flat area that contacts the rug is only a few inches wide. Also, it seems that tools like that would tip to either side easily with a small amount of torque from turning or twisting. But...

    Lux Legacy

I wanted to post a couple pics of this gorgeous vacuum that John Pease gave me for my birthday in March. I didn't take pics of it before because the on board attachments had gone astray, and their replacements just arrived new from Aerus yesterday. Presents like this are above and beyond the...

F and G bags I did a couple Google searches and can't find anything on the Hi Flow HEPA bags. I bought mine from Tom at the vacuum museum factory store in St. James, MO. I can take a pic of the box later if that would be helpful, but the easiest thing to do is call them. The number is...

    New Aerus Upright Vacuum

Wonderful! Wow, if I'd realized your house had so wood I'd never have recommended an upright. You'll love your Miele! Congratulations! Does this mean you're leaving us?

The Eureka uprights I've gotten the most responses of the entire collection to the 1980s Eureka ESP uprights, which I've started displaying since I bought HEPA bags for them at Simplicity. I haven't been using or displaying them because I haven't trusted their filtration to be up to my...

My vacuum spending Lately, I have been overspending on vacuums, but that's been a function of some awesome machines becoming available all within the last month. Having said that, all of the vacuums I've recently bought except the Lux Guardian upright have been used, just in such good...
