    Dyson video.....

It's about time dyson come out with their robotic vacuum. I am looking forward to September 4th to see what it is like. Scott

    Early 1960's Australian PYE rotovac

I saw this add on youtube years ago, I wondered if any were still around! That is a very beautiful machine, that can't be gathered from the add. Funny that it actually wasn't a good performer and that hardly anyone held on to them for ten years. Scott...

Hang on to powerful vacuums law change

I think it's a good thing. After all, here in the states we have been limited to about 1400 watts for as long as I can remember and my home certainly is not buried under a mound of dirt. As collectors, we all know that you don't need crazy watts to clean properly. As this law goes into effect...

    Metro Turbo 2000

"another option I have been told...." I wonder who suggested that? (: Here is a link for bags that do ship to the US. Scott http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/5-Hitachi-Vacuum-Cleaner-Bags-by-InterVac-hoover-bags-models-cv50d-cv60d-cv469-/221295034877?pt=UK_Vacuum_Cleaners&hash=item33863641fd

    Dyson Cinetic Launched in Canada

But dyson does say that the cinetic is the ONLY vacuum that doesn't loose suction. So I guess all those machines from 1993 on wards don't count? Scott

    What's this ???

That is one model of the long running Phillips made canister vacuums that Oreck sold for many years. I have the same machine with a small power head. They are quiet, powerful, well made machines and I love mine! With that wessel-werk head, it is a very aggresive machine. Scott

    My future new toy

I have discussed this before, but this machine is already available under a different name for less than half the cost. Still a nice machine though. Scott

    Should I buy a DC40?

Whatever works, if you really want it and think it will be a good fit for you then go for it! I was just sharing my experience with the newer range. Scott

    Should I buy a DC40?

I do agree that the ball cylinders are way better than the uprights, but that doesn't skirt the fact that the new uprights have issues. The small wheel on the cleaner head in the belt cover wears out really fast and then scratches hard floors, the non filter side of the ball's bracket snaps...

    The Frankeneureka!

That hood is stunning! Love the miss-matched look of it. Scott

    Should I buy a DC40?

Nein! Well, no, not really. I would just find a new or refurbished dc25 instead. It has more aggressive agitation and is far better built. All of the new dyson lineup have loads of problems, I work for a vacuum shop and we see more of the four current dyson upright models in for repair then all...

Dyson DC24 Loss Of Suction. Cyclone Seal Issue

I have also had the issue with the prefilter lifting up in the machine, again within the first year. I think the cyclonic separation is not very good either, even though my filters never got as dirty as yours. I do like the larger Dysons however, at least compared to this one. By the end of...

Dyson DC24 Loss Of Suction. Cyclone Seal Issue

Also according to consumer reports all the Miele uprights perform differently, despite being built the same. blakaeg, The trouble you are having with your dc24 is crazy. I remember we both got our dc24's late 2009 and I have had several problems with mine even after only eight months of...
