Just bought an Oreck... Information wanted!

Indeed, That would be my guess. Another detail I just noticed was the looped handle, another later 90's development. I don't mind them. I think they clean and groom well enough, and they are very light and have huge bag capacity. Plus uses very little energy. Scott

Just bought an Oreck... Information wanted!

Hi Jamie, good to hear from you. I am by no means an oreck expert, but I believe your machine is actually from the late 90's. It is kind of hard to tell with these since they have used this style for a very long time (and still do), but I think the bag is a giveaway. I have a similar one from...

the rise in popularity of cylinder vacuums in the UK

Mike81, I have. Some older clean air machines sold in the U.S (and some that are still sold) don't have on board tools, but rather have a hose port on the back of the bag casing right where the small, rigid hose from the floor head comes into the bag compartment. A tool kit is available for...

    OMG Fantom Fury in England!!!

I wonder how that got over there, and why it's missing the headlight lens and the filter cover? :)

The First Real Dyson 360 Eye Robot Demo

Here is another video I found of it. If you look closely at the edge cleaning of the machine it looks like it has some serious suction. Scott http://https//www.youtube.com/watch?v=pCkEkBV8HDE

    WOW i just won a dyson DC58 for £69.99

I really like mine, the main flaw being the battery life. Other than that, it's really powerful, lite, and versatile. Hope you like it! Scott

    Roomba gets smart!

One thing I take exception to is the fact that many of these smartphone connected machines can't be fully utilized without the smartphone app. While they can be used it would seem that many of the more advanced features are blocked off. Scott

    Great Robot Vacuum From Bissell

It does look better than I would have expected. Glad you like it! It will be interesting to see how it does in the market, and if any other companies like hoover try something like this. Have you considered doing a video of the machine in action? Scott

    Roomba gets smart!

Indeed sebofan, many companies are doing this. My excitement comes mainly from the fact that this is the first iRobot machine that tries any of this. beko, the smartphone app can act as a remote control, plus many older roombas have dedicated remote controls. You might get a kick out of...

    Bissell's Budget Bagless & Black&Decker Uprights...

Interesting, I was wondering when that argos value upright would migrate over here.I wonder if it is any good. From my experience very cheap vacuums like that are either surprisingly good, or an utter disaster. That bissell has been on the market over here for a few years now. One major...

Kleeneze Rotork Cyclon (or G-Force) Brushroll & Soleplate Needed.

As I understand it, there was no American equivalent. At least none that I am aware of. The only other similar machine was the Japanese G-Force. Scott

    Roomba gets smart!

iRobot just released the new Roomba 980, sporting a host of new features including a vision based mapping system and a smartphone app. Looks like iRobot has ditched the random navigation system used in older models. Similarly, Neato recently announced an improved model of their botvac series...

    Dirt Devil UK now TTI?

I noticed this a few weeks ago, it would appear that TTI has aquired the Dirt Devil brand in the UK.    Those small uprights are unmistakably TTI, sold here in the US under the Hoover brand. Plus it seems that the old Dirt Devil UK website is no longer active.   Scott [this post was...

    Amway CMS 1000 VHS Tape

One is going to be for use, the other for show. The one I've had for longer has a lot of small, seemingly fragile parts which made me not want to use it regularly. Now that I have the nicer one, I feel more comfortable using the other one.   If I decide to get rid of one, I'll let you know...
