The serial number does NOT tell the build date on Sanitaires or sanitaire knockoffs. The year it was built is in a circled nipple in the removable fan chamber and the non quick kleen models it's on the base in the same area

In response to the question about Kents I've used them and worked on them before. Just as good of quality as Sanitaire. Some are blue and white and some are blue and chrome.

Can definitely tell it's a Sanitaire fan. Also the fins on a kirby fan are reversed. A Kirby motor spins the opposite way
