Potential New Kirby Vacuum Model Discussion

Well, if this new model is really happening. It’ll truly be interesting to see how they approach this. If it does happen, hopefully we’ll be getting something truly great and that will continue to live up to the performance Kirbys have, among other things.

Found a Sentria I...want to turn it into a "Hentria" -- metal fan OK?

Huskyvacs I can assure you the motor supports the fan just fine. My G5 has been supporting it for five years, as I mentioned above. Here’s a video of that G5 running.

Found a Sentria I...want to turn it into a "Hentria" -- metal fan OK?

Here’s my experience regarding Metal Fans in G Series. I have been using a Metal Fan in a G5 for the past five years now. It has had absolutely no issue at all. It runs just fine and sounds smooth. The performance is a lot better than when it had the Nylon Fan. And yes...

    Who Can ID It?

The headlight has some newer rivets holding the trim on. There’s a chance it was modified by a vac shop with those newer rivets to be able to take the newer style trim. Since models 508 and older (down to the 2C) had the smaller trim that only covered the very front of the headlight hood.

    Who Can ID It?

We got an early 500 series Kirby. The nozzle is specifically a 508 - 512 nozzle. I can tell by the lines on the front. As well as the rug plate. The emtor is a 3C - 505 emtor. 3C - early 513 handle grip. 514 & 515 handle fork. Aftermarket belt lifter. All replacement red trim, bag, cord, etc...

    FrankenKirby Alert!

Based on everything I see on this machine… It’s a Kirby 513. Nozzle and Headlight trim appear to be original. The grip is correct as the early 513s had those older grips. But the grip sleeve is an aftermarket. The belt lifter is an aftermarket. Cord is original for the 516 - 561. The emtor tray...

    Air-way vacuum cleaners

Kirbylux77 I have to agree with you on that. These may not be true Air-Way machines. But as you said, at least the name is on a good vacuum. I’m honestly not mad about these machines being branded Air-Way. It really would've been a disgrace if the name were on a cheap disposable Chinese...

Prototype Kirbys - Did At Least One of Them Exist?

Also... I don't think there is a single vacuum in existence that I want more than that Generation 3 Prototype. This is a long shot, but if anyone out there has one by chance, and they are willing to cough it up for some cash... please let me know. That would actually be awesome. I know they are...

Prototype Kirbys - Did At Least One of Them Exist?

Sorry for bringing back a very old thread, but I wanted to mention for those who didn't know. In the Sentria owners video, the Sentria used has a delicate switch. Which could indicate that Kirby wanted to continue with the switch, though it is never mentioned in the video. It is interesting to...

    Kirby 562 in green trim?

That’s an odd shade of green. Check the inside of that trim ring. It could either be a very faded and discolored original trim, or an aftermarket. The D80 was no where near that shade of green.

    where's the suction relief ?

I can confirm The early 516s had no suction relief. That’s a cool find there!

Potential New Kirby Vacuum Model Discussion

Well Hopefully something will happen. Better than nothing happening at all. Something has to happen, whether it’s a color change, or redesign. Something… and not nothing.

Potential New Kirby Vacuum Model Discussion

Panasonicvac Yes! I would love to see that! A Royal resurrected as a Kirby would be so cool if I’m being honest. Maybe even bring back the 888 style one with the removable nozzle and belt lifter. I doubt it’ll ever happen, but just imagine…

    Wireless Vacuette

The seller Probably did a decent amount of research and saw that collectors tend to sell these for this price. Hence why a non collector has listed it this high.

    Wireless Vacuette

That is very cool and in decent shape for its age. Though I can’t justify paying $1200 for it. If it were fully restored, possibly. But I’ve already gone down that road before, and have no intention of doing it again. Hopefully it finds a good home with a collector who’ll give it some love and...

Potential New Kirby Vacuum Model Discussion

Well It’d be very cool to see Kirby make a change regarding their sales method. I think maybe they should have vacuum shops, and janitorial suppliers sell them. As well as have them available on their page. That would be a cool thing to see. Back to new models. This is very unlikely to happen...

Potential New Kirby Vacuum Model Discussion

As I’ve said before… We’ll see what happens. It’s good to have this thread to discuss this.

Potential New Kirby Vacuum Model Discussion

The Sentria & Avalir names are pretty interesting. According to a thorough google search, these are their meanings. Sentria means “Versatility” Avalir means “To Destroy” They seem pretty obvious to me. Kirby is basically saying the machine is versatile and destroys dirt and debris.

Which modern (last 20 years) Kirby should you buy?

The Diamond Edition Is a more desirable Kirby for its delicate switch. Which allows you to switch between normal and low speeds for different carpets and rugs, as well as drapes and furniture with the hose.

Here is some of the discussion from the other thread. I figured I’d carry some of it over to here.
