    My Hoover 725!

Thanks, Hooverboy81! I had to tinker with the Kirby bag: there's a heavy spring sewn into the bottom which had to come out so the bag could fit over the piece that attaches to the base of the Hoover (not sure what to call it -- a bag clamp?). Anyway, to get it to fit, I had to take a few...

    My Hoover 725!

I'm showing off my "new" Hoover 725! It needed a lot of Mothers polish, of course, and there are still some spotted areas that need work. I wanted to replace the tatty brown zipper bag that came with it, so thanks to a suggestion I found in an early post here, I put on a Kirby 500 black cotton...

Question about Brush Strips for Hoover 700 and 725

Will the brush strips for a Hoover Model 700 also work with the 725? Thanks!

    English Hoover 652-A

Hoover 25 Nice collection! Question: I see a Hoover 25 in the group. How well do you like it for everyday cleaning? I'm considering getting one but would like to know more about how it compares to, say, a Royal in terms of cleaning power and ease of use. Thanks very much!

    Filter Queen Pow-R-Polisher

Just got one of these polishers from eBay -- another in a sequence of amazing Filter Queen attachments -- but it is missing the lambswool buffer. Does anyone know if these are still made to fit the polisher? I've tried the usual Google search but haven't turned up anything yet. I'd appreciate...

    Filter Queen Question

New metal screen for my 95x! Off with the plastic screen and on with the metal one today: great success! With a new (authentic) cone filter and motor guard filter as well, the suction is now unbelievable!

    Question about Royal 801

Aarggh...another mistake, Jeff! Of course I meant the 153 with the Geier belt cover. Coffee hasn't kicked in yet...

    Question about Royal 801

    Amazed

at the range of attachments for Filter Queens! Who knew there was a hair dryer attachment?! http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Filter-Queen-Vacuum-Cleaner-Filtered-Hair-Dryer-Attachment-/141620668697?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item20f93fe919

    Question about Royal 801

What a beautiful collection, Jeff! I'm in awe of your 189. Is that a Geier belt cover I see on the 177?

    Filter Queen Question

Well, I found the model and serial number under the cap at the top: Model 95x; serial number 0592. There's the same six-number series there as appears on the outer part of the machine: 777887. Can I assume that my Filter Queen dates from May 1992?

    Filter Queen Question

Jadeangel, thanks for that dating information. The model number I found appeared on the power head, along with the serial number: 200-011. The only other number series I could locate was stamped into the chrome band at the base of the motor portion (right above where it fits onto the drum)...

The monitor upright- aka the Apex 601

Apex 600 Update: the Royal upright belt works perfectly in the Apex 600! That brush is spinning like mad!

    Filter Queen Question

Ah! Just what I was hoping to hear! My FQ has been languishing while I've been trying out other vacuums, but now I realize what a gem it really is. My goal is to fit it up right with parts that won't break and use it as my "daily driver."

    Filter Queen Question

This may sound silly, but I just am not a fan of plastic parts.

    Filter Queen Question

I have a nice older Filter Queen Majestic, model AN96, that has the plastic cone guard. Would it be possible, or even advisable, to replace that with a metal one from an earlier machine? Also, any ideas as to the date of this model? Thanks very much!

    Question about Royal 801

My "dream machine" would be a Royal 801 from the early fifties, in good enough condition to use every day if I wanted to. Love that diagonal black & red design on the bag and belt cover! Who knows -- I might even start to enjoy vacuuming! If anyone has one that you'd be willing to part with...

    Question about Royal 801

Thanks, Ben! I thought something didn't look quite right on this one. Here's another listing for one that seems more "together": http://www.ebay.com/itm/ROYAL-VACUUM-CLEANER-METAL-UPRIGHT-MODEL-801-ADJUST-O-RITE-VINTAGE-1971-READY-/181529240766?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2a43fc64be

    Question about Royal 801

Correction Hmmm...must be from the seventies, perhaps, since the Royal address includes a zip code! Sorry!

    Question about Royal 801

First of all, I'm new to this forum and want to say "Thank you!" for sharing fascinating information about vintage vacuums! I'm learning a lot already. I am intrigued by older Royals and have my eye on an eBay listing for an 801. The seller has posted (at my request) a picture showing the...
