Your Photo isn't showing up on my computer! I'd love to see your Apex, since I also have one from that era.

Finally preparing the Vacuum "gallery". Care to see some HOOVERS?

What wonderful pictures! Thanks again for allowing us to see all your goodies! It's amazing what you've been able to find; you might indeed locate Jimmy Hoffa after all! In fact, I'm betting that the Lindbergh Baby has been playing with those toy coffee cans! Hope you can get some relief...

Early Hoover on eBay -- 425?

That bag could very well be the main attraction. It's easy to see, even with the murky photo. As for the machine, I'm sure those who have the know-how could fix it up or part it out.

Early Hoover on eBay -- 425?

Only two pictures of this Hoover (Model 425?), for anyone who might be interested, but -- OH -- an early bag! Might be worth the price of admission just for that! http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Hoover-Vacuum-/201424253881?hash=item2ee5d233b9

    shakeout bag

Hmm...well, I may be wrong on the kind of bag you need. For some reason I was envisioning your 29 as the old "coffee can" style, for which the Kirby cloth bag would work very well. Not so sure about the one you have; maybe someone else can advise!

    shakeout bag

A Kirby 500 bag should work just fine. It's a black, heavy cotton without any logo; the spring coil that comes with it will have to come out of the "business end" so you can re-fit it to your Hoover's bag ring. You can see what I did with my Hoover 725 in the attached pictures.

1920's models, if you had to choose

I'll second Hoover119dude's assessment of the Hoover 700. Not to sound like the proverbial broken record, but I use mine almost exclusively because it does a far better job on carpets than anything else I've had. Mine has the tools also, but since it's difficult for me to keep removing and...

1920's models, if you had to choose

Thread 241164 offers pictures of a couple of early straight-suction Royals dating from the 1920s. Something along that line might work best on your hardwood floors. For carpets, I haven't found much to beat the Hoover 700. It's a terrific machine!

Brush Roll for Hoover Baby 103 or Model 102?

Wow, 3rdGenvacGuy! I'd call that a labor of love!

Brush Roll for Hoover Baby 103 or Model 102?

I just saw this listing on eBay for what looks to be a brush roll for either a Hoover Model 102 or the Baby 103. If anyone has either of these machines, it might be worth checking into this part. It looks like it's seen some use, but still...

    My Hoover 700 and 725

Finally got the "new" Hoover 700 spruced up! It's pictured here on the left with my 725. I refashioned a black cotton Kirby 500 bag for it as well, so the two vacuums look as close to authentic as is practical. Must say that the 700 has tremendous suction and beating power; it runs circles...

    What was I thinking . . . . A Filter Queen ???

I have this exact model, with all the attachments, and love it! It has great suction. Just make sure to use genuine FQ filters. Give it a chance; you might be pleasantly surprised!

    My Hoover 725!

O.k. so here are a few pictures that show the process. In the first one, you can see the adapted bag on the left, a new unaltered bag on the right, and the coil that has to come out in order to make it fit over the Hoover bag clamp. The next several shots show close-ups of the bag fitting...

    My Hoover 725!

Thank you, Miskini! And yes, Hooverboy81, I'll get some pictures up that show how I adapted the Kirby bag.
