LOOOONNNG Hose Based on Tom's suggestion (thank you, Tom), I ordered the 15 foot hose and got it this weekend. Wow, what a difference. In my small apartment, I can park the Rainbow and clean all around...I only had to move the motor 3 times to clean the whole place! I also ordered a Rainbow...

    Spring Cleaning 2015.

The aresenal I did my spring cleaning a few weeks ago; primarily with my Kirby Sentria 2 in upright mode and my G4 in canister mode. I use comet for the john and tub, orange Awesome for the bathroom sink and kitchen. I used my Hoover Floormate and Floormate solution for the floors. Of...

    Alternative to Rainbow chemicals

No foam soap Thanks for the suggestions everyone! I will try both the Spic and Span and Fabuloso! I have used both in the past so I like the smell of both. I used Tide HE tonight just to give it a try. I used too much I think. I think only a drop or two would do in 1/2 gallon of water. The...

    Kirby Black Diamond?

It is cool but... Looks like somebody got carried away with the black spray paint. The screen printing on the handle label looks pretty legit though. But at $600, as my grandpa would say, "He sure is proud of it."

    Alternative to Rainbow chemicals

Scents Thanks, Mark. I def want to try some tea tree oil or lemon essential oil in my bowl for a nice clean scent, and antimicrobial reasons. Like you said, that has to be better than any chemical agent.

    Alternative to Rainbow chemicals

I think it's time to try out the squeegee attachment that came with my newly-acquired Rainbow E2 Gold 2-Speed. I've finally figured out from an old post here how to use it. Fill a 1/2 gallon container with diluted soap solution, pour on the floor, scrub, vacuum up, and when you're out of clean...

Barter deal The barter deal makes perfect sense, since the house it was in looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a decade or so. That's OK; I got the nice Rainbow I wanted and they got the cash they wanted. Everybody wins! And I don't mean to sound like a jerk. They were very kind people...

I was actually quite shocked that my Rainbow was clean and like new! A very pleasant surprise! I have thoroughly enjoyed cleaning with it already and seeing the filth floating in the bowl! I think the 15 Ft hose is a really good idea... Next paycheck perhaps! Thanks everyone! I'm happy to be...

Breathing better Well, I can honestly say after having cleaned my entire house with my Rainbow and having ran it on low speed for 36 hours, this morning when I woke up I could actually breathe better! My nose is clear and no sneezing! I will still never give up on my favorite vacs -- KIRBY --...

Always a Kirby man While I will enjoy using my new rainbow, I will always love a Kirby. I just think they're beautiful machines. Shiny aluminum and the big inflated bag have so much charm to me. The rainbow is just an addition to my cleaning family! And thanks Tom for the suggestion about...

Well after having read through several posts in the archives here about Rainbows and will all the breathing issues I've had lately, I decided it was time to try a Rainbow. I knew I wanted a 2-speed but they're just so darn expensive! After having scrubbed eBay and Craigslist for a few weeks, I...

    Kirby Turbo Groom

It actually works quite well. I had one several years ago. I cut ,y,own hair and was vacuuming up the hair (with one of my Kirbys of course), and thought it would be nice to have one of these again!

    kirby fan interchangeability?

Voltage When you go up to the higher voltage, your wattage remains the same but your amperage will go down. So you'll still be using 330 watts just at 1.5 amps instead of 3. That's why the electric company charges by kilowatt hour. It's the same no matter what the voltage.

    Kirby Turbo Groom

Anybody have a Kirby Turbo Groom set they're willing to part with at a reasonable price? I used one years ago and the ex wife made me get rid of it when we moved a few years back. I'd love to acquire one again! Thanks everybody.

    Dating site?

I can't imagine dating someone who actually liked vacuums as much as me. I did manage to find a guy who thinks that my Kirby's are "chrome" and cool and retro looking. I had to educate him on polished aluminum :) Just the fact that he thinks they're cool...I think I'll keep him around :)

What was you parents first vacuum!????

What a fun thread! My parents received this model of Eureka for a wedding present. They used it until my Great Grandfather went into nursing care and we inherited his Kirby Sanitronic VII. I loved that old Kirby...so sad my Mom sold it in a yard sale a few years ago without my knowledge! I...
